My business is about making homes interesting! Selling items that will enrich your space - adding history, lovely colours or beautiful scents. I can be found at Aladdins Loft in Faversham, by appointment at home in Rochester and at a number of Fairs in Kent and Sussex which I try to list on my page.

Second chandelier now all cleaned & mended!
This is one of the parts that I love but is never visible when you are ‘stalled out’ at a venue - rescuing, mending & restoring pieces so that they can have a new life. Sometimes it’s ‘just’ cleaning & research, sometimes (like here) it’s re-making a piece, finding replacement parts etc. because no-one is going to hang a light shade missing half it’s pieces and chains!!
It’s going to be a sparkling November!

What is this?
It’s a sign of the seasons - me making Christmas decorations! I know it seems too soon but they will be appearing with many other sparkly things from the end of October………

So we had a few days away for family birthdays & long walks but I did manage a little treasure hunting too - I’m pretty sure that even Mr Wtgsi wasn’t surprised by that 😂.
Looking at the photos I can see an obsession with faces both animal & human - the serpentine handle on that jug & the French leonine firedogs are firm favourites.

Limited hunting time so just a few treasures found today and they were quite hard of finding!
My obsession with lion faces & paw feet is clearly on display! The old hot water jug is solid & gorgeous, the papier-mâché letter pocket in need of further gentle cleaning. The most interesting story prize goes to the beautiful tape old tape measure which the chap said had been part of his father’s tool kit 90 years ago at The Clyde shipyards !
The gorgeous bag & whitefriars glass bowl will be contributing to my Christmas colour theme.
You can never pass up an old wooden drawer, the brass coal tongs are temptingly tactile and I couldn’t resist the quirky, though modern, head.
When you’re shopping do you love to get the story or just want to grab & go in case you miss something?
