Jools made Sew House 7 dungarees using beautiful turquoise cotton double gauze. Fabric has a soft feel and lovely drape and is very breathable for warm days.
And the pattern is super too. Love the big bib at the front and long tiesโ€ฆ

๐Ÿž๐Ÿž๐ŸžHow does Yarn Market Night work?๐Ÿž๐Ÿž๐Ÿž

Join us on Facebook Live on Wednesday 10th June at 7pm and we'll guide you through the evening.

Throughout the live, we'll show a range of yarn, knitting patterns, crochet patterns, tools, notions and other yarn-related goodies.

If you'd like to purchase an item, simply comment with the lot number followed by our code word:

STITCH

For example:
Lot 12 STITCH

The first person to comment correctly will secure the item.

If you are successful, we'll confirm during the live and your items can then be paid for and collected or posted out afterwards.

It's a relaxed, friendly evening and everyone is welcome, whether you're shopping or simply joining us for some crafty company.

Before we get started, tell us in the comments: what is your favourite thing to make with yarn?

Please like and share so fellow makers don't miss out.

Summer is such wonderful time of the year! Every minute seems to be filled with something to do- sometimes until the last light.
And you also need time to draw a breath and enjoy it all- the company, the produce from the garden and the lovely makes from the sewing clubs and the knitting social.

In addition to the usual sewing and knitting groups this week I had a two lady macrame day making bags today. These ladies had been before and wanted to have a go at something different.
We had a fun filled day and made very cheerful and useful macrame bags. As an inspiration we used Paulina yarn and a pattern.
This Sunday I have a private sewing session with a grandmother with two grandchildren.
Gardening has been a top priority since I came back from holiday and it has resulted in a sore elbow. Not a great time to start ailing with a a tennis elbow when the matches have just started.
Fine weather for both gardening and tennis!
Hope you are enjoying the summer months!

Sweet peas are in and supported.
Weaving is one thing that makes sense, not a lot else does right now.
After Sewing Club this morning I spent some time in the garden. Wow, everything is growing so fast!

Sunshine never fails to energise.
Potatoes are in, the polytunnel almost ready for spring planting and greenhouse fixed as the storm Dave caused some havoc.
And here I am trying to work out something to take to a local craft club as an activity. It is not quite there as it is too complicated but I am having fun thinking. I always try to put a bit of me in the projectsโ€ฆ
Have a lovely week and enjoy the rest of Easter. Yum.

Some things look so good dried.
Handling willow bark when it is soaked and malleable is a pleasure like no other. I remember the first time some seven years ago when I went to Finland and was taught by Anna- Maria Vรครคtainen how to weave with willow bark. Before that I knew nothing about using willow bark as a material for making. She was such an amazing teacher. I still have her detailed handouts. Her calm and creativeness has stayed in my head and heart with gratefulness. Also so thankful to my friend Tarja from for encouraging me to go along.
Using natural and locally accessible materials for making totally makes sense. Often these materials are considered as weeds or nuisance plants that need to be controlled.
Their beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
And that is enough.

This star shaped weave can be rather taxing on the brain unless you practice it frequently. It is a three way weave which makes it a bit tricky.
Lovely pattern though.
Next I will make some using willow barkโ€ฆand offer that as a workshop. For a small groupโ€ฆ
