IT’S FINISHED!!

But it’s broken 💔🫠

I actually finished this about a week ago! Then I got Covid! Then we had our late mumma’s (what would have been) 67th birthday and her death anniversary all in 7 days, and then in a hormonal rage I broke the lock! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I cried like a baby and then I just had to walk away from it! 😏

Grief, hormones and a nasty cold has put me back in a hole with no motivation, procrastination, and defeat!

I went back to it today to take these photographs, for this post, and whilst I wait for my husband to fix it…I thought I’d share it, because I’ve been AWFUL with socials too! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m not sure what I’m trying to say other than, this is the reality of a self employed creative, a job that requires self motivation and drive and inspiration! Something which currently, I have none of! 🕳️

This may be for sale soon, it may not 🤣

I’ll be back in a week or so with the verdict 🛌

Gilding galore at the workshop today! 🔱🏆👸🏻⚱️⚜️

And it’s absolutely EVERYWHERE! Including my face, hair, phone and lunch 🤦🏻‍♀️

I started off reminding myself how satisfying gilding is, and ended up thinking I never want to use gold leaf again 🤣

Anyway, this Golden Lady will soon be finished and for sale (sneak peek on the last slide) 🌟

I’m now off to do the school run looking like C-3PO! 🫢

Back to business 🫣

I’m finally back in the workshop after taking the whole summer off and I’m working on a real beaut 👌🏼

I haven’t actually put my hands on a piece since February 👀 and to be honest, lost my mojo a bit!
After a huge work/life imbalance, I took the last 6 months to focus more on my family, my home, Sophie’s wedding, and myself!

With my little man now back in school, I finally felt it time to get creative again.
Truth be told I’m not the greatest self motivator and the imposters syndrome is worse than ever, but I dug the workshop keys out yesterday, blew away the cobwebs (literally 🫣🕸️) and I’m trying very hard to kick that imposters butt!

So here I am…tunes are on, I’m covered in sawdust again, and I’m midway through transforming an old bureau that is giving me golden autumn vibes!

With help from our trusty wood man Chris we turned it in to pure luxury, and it sold in a flash! 🖤

WE’RE ON THE TELE TODAY 📺♥️

Whoops was a bit late for this one but it’s just about to start (2pm) over on 🫣🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

Today is repeating of an old episode showcasing the beautiful bamboo set that we gave the ultimate glam up to! 🤩

When brought us this project, we were certainly sceptical 🫤 and at one point it was a literal pile of sticks on the floor! BUT…we soon built it back up again and with a little (A LOT) of gold 🙊 and a touch of Sophie’s dreamy Hand painting, we made two very pretty pieces that sold to a gorgeous glamping retreat in Scotland ♥️

Black Croc 🖤🤤

I cannot get enough of this black croc look on furniture 👌🏼 giving it a glossy leather feel, it oozes class and opulence! 🖤

We first did this style on a desk for (episode coming to BBC1 soon) and loved it so much I just had to do a piece for home the same!

Using ‘Blackjack’ , a textured croc print, and .uk ‘s Diamond Hard Satin Varnish, I transformed this old sideboard and I’m obsessed with the final look! I love how it wraps around those curves 🖤

Using a satin/gloss varnish means the sun beats off of it beautifully, and it’s wipe clean 👌🏼

This croc/leather look can be done in several colours and on all sorts of furniture items, so if this is your vibe, and you’d love me to bring it into your home too, get in touch! 🖤

A Beautiful New Chapter! ♥️

Yesterday we celebrated Sophie’s last day in her Folkestone shop , the handing over to the shops new owner and 8 wonderful years of Sophie’s beautiful business furnishing Folkestone and beyond! 👌🏼

Sophie didn’t only do that though, she also used the shop as a space to encourage other artisans to fulfil their own creative dreams too, giving many creators the opportunity to sell in the space. This was amazing for small creative business owners that weren’t quite ready to take on a shop of their own! 👌🏼

I want to use this post to say THANK YOU to Sophie for the opportunity she gave me!!

I personally was a baker at heart but lost love for that after lockdown. I cared for my dad full time until he sadly passed at the beginning of ‘22, my son started school shortly after that, and then I was completely lost!
Sophie was inundated with commissions and asked me to give it a go!
I took to it immediately and couldn’t get enough of it! We soon realised that together we made a dream team! The creative juice that flowed between us was magic and we bounced off of eachother perfectly for 3.5 years! We made great friendships with amazing customers, we started our TV journey with and the amazing , & ♥️ We laughed SO much, poured blood, sweat, and literal tears into our work and there was nothing that healed me and the pain of losing our dad more than that time and I will be forever grateful to Sophie for that! 🥹

Both Sophie and I have reached a realisation this year that it’s time for us to finally focus more on ourselves, our health, and our little families and try and get the work/life balance right!

As Sophie slows things down in this new chapter, know that this isn’t the end! Not the end of or us as a duo! We will continue on our TV journey with , with several brand new episodes still to come 🎉📺
Sophie will be found at her sweet little shop in Sandgate, where I will pop up from time to time, and we have lots of ideas already for what to collaborate on next 😉🤫
