⚠️ What’s hiding underneath the moss on your roof?
Moss build-up isn’t just about how your roof looks. Sometimes, a careful roof clean can uncover problems that might otherwise go unnoticed.
On this week’s roof clean, I found broken tiles and cement that was starting to move. These are issues worth being aware of, as they can potentially lead to further problems if left unchecked.
That’s why every roof I clean is hand-scraped, with the moss carefully removed and the tile edges brushed. This approach also gives me the opportunity to spot visible defects along the way.
Once the moss is removed, I apply professional-strength biocide to help kill the remaining growth and slow regrowth. Gutters are emptied, and any mess is cleared away.

⚠️ What could be hiding beneath the moss on your roof?
Moss build-up affects more than the appearance of your roof. A thorough roof clean can sometimes reveal issues that may otherwise go unnoticed.
During last week’s roof clean, I uncovered broken tiles and cement that was beginning to move. These are important issues to be aware of, as they could potentially cause further problems if left unchecked.
That’s why every roof I clean is hand-scraped, with the moss carefully removed and the tile edges brushed. This also allows me to check for visible defects as I work.
After the moss has been removed, I apply professional-strength biocide to help eliminate remaining growth and slow down regrowth. While treating the roof, I keep the gutters clear and running so excess chemical and debris do not sit in them or wash down the drain. Any excess chemical is collected and placed on suitable hard surfaces, such as chuckies, lock block or tarmac, rather than being taken away. Gutters are emptied, and all mess is cleared away.

Another roof clean completed in Forres a couple of weeks ago. 🏠
This roof was fully hand-scraped to remove the moss and built-up growth, followed by a professional-strength biocide treatment to kill the remaining growth and slow future regrowth.
During the clean, we also identified a few defects with the roof which were brought to the homeowner’s attention.
Once the roof was cleaned, we cleared out the gutters and used our wet vacuum to remove all the moss, dirt and debris, leaving the gutters clean and flowing freely.

Roof clean completed in Nairn last week. 🏠
This one was certainly an interesting job, with a wasps’ nest in the roof and access under some of the tiles! 🐝
Nevertheless, we got the roof fully hand-scraped, followed by a professional-strength biocide treatment to kill the moss and slow future regrowth.
We also hovered out the excess treatment from the gutters afterwards, leaving everything clean and tidy.

Another roof clean completed in Lossiemouth a couple of weeks ago. 🏠
The roof was fully hand-scraped to remove the moss and built-up growth, followed by a professional-strength biocide treatment to kill the remaining growth and slow future regrowth.
As requested by the homeowner, we also installed bird spikes to help deter birds from landing and nesting on the roof.
The gutters were cleared, with all moss, dirt, debris and any excess chemical treatment vacuumed out, leaving everything clean and tidy.

Total dedication to providing a service you can rely on every time.

End of the week, and another few smaller jobs ticked off! 💪
Lots of gutters emptied and cleaned out this week. I only managed to get a few pictures as the weather wasn’t exactly on our side! 🌧️
Even when the jobs are smaller, the same care and attention goes into getting them properly cleaned and leaving everything tidy when we’re finished.
