The Secret Garden 🌿🌸

As a little girl, I was captivated by The Secret Garden — a story of a forgotten place brought back to life with patience, love and the quiet magic of nature.

There is something so beautiful about the idea that a garden can heal us. That amongst the tangled branches, hidden pathways and tiny new shoots, we can find hope, joy and a sense of wonder again.

Perhaps that is why I still love gardens today. They are never just about flowers. They are about memories, seasons, resilience and new beginnings.

Every seed planted, every bloom opened and every wild corner left for nature to flourish tells a story.

A little bit of secret garden magic can be found everywhere if we stop long enough to notice 🌱✨

Dear gentle reader…

Some things are simply meant to be together… 🌹📚

Today I’ve placed a beautiful Emily Brontë rose by David Austin in a little jam jar from Jane Austen’s house — two of my favourite authors brought together in the gentlest of ways.

I’ve always loved the thought that ordinary, humble objects can hold so much beauty and history. A simple jam jar, now holding a rose named after another literary great, feels rather magical.

And the rose itself… oh my goodness. David Austin roses truly are something special. The fragrance of this Emily Brontë rose is absolutely unbelievable — rich, romantic and completely transporting.

A little moment where stories, gardens and flowers meet. 🌿✨

“Today, The Little Flower Jar sold out. 🌸

Two huge cottage-garden bouquets filled with foxgloves, daisies and Ammi found new homes, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you to everyone who visited, chatted, supported, bought flowers, gifts and jars, and to all those who continue to cheer on this little shop. Every purchase means more than you know.

Tonight my buckets are empty, my feet are tired, and my heart is full. 💜🌿”

And perhaps George would like to add:

“The flowers sold out, but I’m still available for cuddles. 🐾”

Every so often I open the little message box outside the shop and read the notes that have been tucked inside… and honestly, they make my day.

The kind words, thoughtful messages, little drawings and sweet comments remind me why I opened the shop in the first place. On the busy days, the bustling days, and all the days in between, they bring a smile to my face.

Thank you to everyone who has taken a moment to leave a message. Your kindness means more than you know, and every note is treasured.

This little shop is filled with flowers, gifts and jars, but it’s the wonderful people who walk through the door (and leave messages in the box!) who make it truly special.

And a special thank you from George the pug too, who would like everyone to know that he appreciates all visitors, especially those who tell him he’s handsome. 🐾💕

🌿 Flowers can travel too! 🌿

If you’d like your flowers delivered, just send me your postcode and I’ll work out the delivery cost for you. I always try to keep charges as fair as possible while making sure your flowers arrive safely and beautifully.

If you’d like a message I’ll write it on a beautiful luggage tag and add it to your arrangement.

Running a small flower shop is about so much more than selling flowers.

To every customer who pops in for a chat, admires the flowers, buys a gift, supports a local business, shares a kind word, or tells a friend about the shop… thank you.

Your lovely comments about the flowers, the gifts, the displays, and the atmosphere mean more than you could imagine. Every kind word is noticed, and on the quieter days, those conversations and little moments of encouragement stay with me.

I feel incredibly lucky to meet such wonderful people. Some come in for flowers, some for gifts, and some simply for a chat, but every visit helps make this little shop feel special.

Thank you for supporting my dream, for your kindness, and for making each day brighter.

🔵✨ The Blue Moon ✨🔵

Despite its name, a Blue Moon rarely appears blue. It’s the name given to an extra full moon in a season, making it a rare and special sight.

In folklore, the Blue Moon has long been associated with wishes, new beginnings, and unexpected opportunities. It was said that anything planted, dreamed of, or hoped for beneath its glow carried a little extra magic.

Tonight, as the moon rises over gardens, fields, and flower patches, it’s a lovely reminder to pause and appreciate the beauty around us. The blooms we’ve nurtured, the seasons we’ve weathered, and the dreams we’re still growing.

Once in a Blue Moon, something special comes along. 🌿💙
