A final weekend of Edinburgh Festival Fringe night out. We already had ticket for Susie Mccabe but realised that David O'Doherty was on in the same venue in the slot beforehand. So here we are!

Wishing a fantastic day to everyone taking part in the very first Scottish Borders Pride today! We are so excited to see this historic, joyous event come to Galashiels.

Here at Untangled Yarns, we want to say how proud we are to be a supporter of The Scottish LGBTI+ Rainbow Mark and a welcoming, inclusive safe space for everyone in our community—today and every day.

Have an amazing time celebrating, marching, and connecting! 🧶🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

We are open from 10:30 and will out to cheer everyone as you march/dance/skip/walk/roll by on Channel Street.

🐑🧶 A NEW BATCH OF LOCAL YARN IS IN PRODUCTION! 🧶🐑

We’ve had a lovely update from Claudia at Wedale Wool, and we couldn’t wait to share it with you!

Claudia has been in touch to show us some of the fresh fleece that’s arrived and is now on its journey to becoming beautiful, locally produced yarn. 🤎🤍

What makes this yarn extra special? It’s not just from sheep local to the Scottish Borders — the fleece is also processed and spun right here in the Scottish Borders! 🌿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

From fleece to finished skein, this really is Borders wool from sheep to yarn — supporting local producers and keeping the whole process as close to home as possible. ❤️

And Claudia has teased us with one more exciting detail… 👀

We can’t wait to see how these turn out and, of course, to get the finished yarn into the shop.

With the first ever Scottish Borders Pride taking place in Galashiels this weekend, we want to wish everyone involved a fantastic day!

It should go without saying that Galashiels is a town for everyone - a place where everyone should feel welcome, respected and able to be themselves, every day of the year.

We’re incredibly proud that Galashiels is hosting this important first for the Scottish Borders, and wish the organisers, businesses, volunteers and everyone attending a brilliant day.

🎉 WHAT A RESPONSE! 🧶✨

Today at Untangled Yarns, Mary and Julie hosted our Mill Memories reminiscence group — and what an afternoon it was!

We were absolutely delighted to welcome 15 people, who came together to share memories, stories and experiences of working in the mills across the Scottish Borders over the years. There was laughter, nostalgia, fascinating stories and, most importantly, a real sense of connection and shared history. ❤️

Mary and Julie have been bowled over by the response and by just how keen everyone is to get together again. It’s clear there are plenty more memories waiting to be shared!

📣 So, watch this space! We’ll be planning more Mill Memories sessions as requested, and anyone who hasn’t been able to attend yet will be more than welcome to join us.

If you worked in the mills yourself and have memories and stories to share, we’d love to see you.
