For Mr & Mrs Charnley! 🤍

I spent the most wonderfully special day with this lovely family at last week. A family of fellow flower lovers, and a couple who love cats just as much as I do. So, naturally, I felt right at home! 🐈‍⬛

I haven’t been asked about flower varieties quite so much for a long time, but I truly loved it. There’s something so lovely about people taking an interest in what I’m creating, and seeing the joy on their faces as they discovered each flower brought me just as much joy in return.

I absolutely adored bringing this fresh, joyful palette to life too. Dahlias, cosmos, clematis, garden roses and, of course, the odd stray tennis ball thrown in for good measure 😜

And that was one of my favourite things about the whole day. Being surrounded by all of you, whether playing tennis, having a stroll, heading off on a bike ride or simply enjoying the day together, it felt like the whole place had come together as one little community.

Such a special day, such a wonderful family, and a couple I’ll absolutely never forget.

I’m still speechless at how wonderful your wedding day was, and very conscious that I’m writing this to a literal wordsmith 😂

We faced rain, we faced wind, and we faced it with the biggest smiles on all our faces!

Love, can be felt throughout an entire wedding day, your love, your guests love for you, it was everywhere.

I had the absolute privilege of working with Simone and Jamie, who travelled back from Australia to Simone’s home town to say their vows before heading onto their greatest adventure.

And every single moment of our planning journey was truly wonderful, from our first meeting online to coffees in the lobby of the hotel when you were back visiting, to sitting down at your wedding breakfast with your closest friends and family and hearing what I had already figured out, that you two are just made for each other.

Thankyou both for making this florists heart and tummy feel completely full on your beautiful day.

And thankyou for choosing me to bring your beautiful florals to life!

I’m not even sure where to begin with these two. Abby & Matt are the kind of people who are simply beautiful to their core 🤍

From the very beginning, they had such a clear vision for their wedding. Not just how they wanted it to look, but how they wanted it to feel. The best part was that it felt exactly like them.

That’s the magic of creating a wedding that’s based around who you are. When every decision is made because it means something to you, rather than because it’s on trend, your day comes to life in the most unique way. The atmosphere was joyful, fun, emotional, relaxed and completely contagious all day long.

It was a privilege to create the flowers for such a special day, but even more than that, I’m so grateful to have met two genuinely wonderful people and to have the connection I now share with them 🤍

I love this photo.

Your wedding party is so important.

They’re carrying your bouquet while you hug your grandparents. They’re fixing your veil before anyone notices. They’re making sure you’ve eaten something. They’re crying before you are and laughing five minutes later.

They’re drying your outdoor chairs after the rain, telling everyone they’re fine to sit on, then realising they aren’t actually dry (that one was me for my best friend 🙋‍♀️ Luckily, I was the tester.)

They’re cheering you on when the nerves start to kick in, or gently reminding you it’s probably time to leave because you’ve always been the one who’s running late 😉

They do so much more than wear a lovely dress.

I think that’s why I love this photo so much. Just a group of girls genuinely enjoying one of the biggest days of their lives. 🤍

And then, just like that, you’re married 🤍

After months, sometimes years, of planning, imagining and counting down the days, there comes a moment when everything comes together…

All the careful planning, decision making, creativity and thoughtful details lead to this moment.

The best part…

A kiss beneath the trees. Applause from the people who love you most. The feeling of knowing you’ve just stepped into a brand new chapter together.

I often think wedding flowers are at their most beautiful when they’re part of moments like these. Not demanding attention, simply standing alongside you and helping to tell part of your story.

After a few super flowery weeks…

There is something I realised I don’t think I’ll ever stop feeling grateful for.

Being invited in.

Invited into the excitement of planning a wedding. Into the conversations, the ideas, the dreams for the day. Into a chapter of people’s lives that is so fleeting, but so incredibly significant.

Long before the flowers arrive, before the bouquets are tied and the candles are lit, couples are sharing pieces of their story with me. What they love, what matters to them, how they want their wedding day to feel.

And that is a privilege I never take for granted.

Flowers are such a huge part of how a wedding feels.

They frame the moments you’ll remember forever. They sit quietly in the background of your vows, your photographs, your hugs, your tears and your celebrations. They become woven into the story of a day that only happens once.

Every enquiry that lands in my inbox, every conversation, every mood board and every couple who chooses me to create for them is something I am deeply grateful for.

It’s a privilege to create, a privilege to be chosen, and a privilege to play a small part in one of the most important days of someone’s life.

Over the past week alone, I’ve worked with couples who have travelled from all corners of the world to celebrate here. I’ve shared stories over cups of coffee, chatted about families, careers and adventures, been sent home with generous slices of wedding cake and oddly the biggest pack of hummus I’ve ever seen 😆 and spent time with people who were strangers but left feeling like friends.

One of the things I love most about this job is that our paths cross at such a meaningful moment. For a little while, I get to be part of their story, and they become part of mine.

Sometimes, in the middle of an installation, surrounded by flowers and completely lost in the process, I have a little moment where it all sinks in.

And I feel incredibly lucky that this is what I get to do.
