I’ve been finishing this stormtrooper from RS Prop Masters - King of Troopers that I got in a trade years ago, doing it with fully hand painted details like the originals and…I just don’t get it. Have I painted this poorly? It just doesn’t look good. Will be up for sale as soon as it’s finished.

Many years ago I heard there was a limited edition, leather bound version of Sabriel, by Garth Nix

I have never been able to find so much as a picture of this mythical book, so I did what any sensible person does in this situation and learned the rudiments of bookbinding so I could re-cover my own copy.

If you’re a fan of fantasy, do yourself a favour and read this series, it’s wonderful and would make@for some incredible cosplays as well!

Just a little something that I had a hand in building for a movie that’s being made locally!

I recently was sent a photo that shows the rogue one parts look to be satin clear coated (except the dome), so what do people think of this look? It could possibly go a little more matt I think, but interested in other opinions!

Some beauty shots of the Vader helmet painted with alumaluster from ImperialSurface

Lightly weathered just to give it that Star Wars feel, DM me if you’re interested in picking this one up!

Big pile o’ knives! We’re working on some pieces for a low budget horror movie and they needed a nice slasher weapon. So here we have a mix of steel, rubber, and foam knives that will be used for various scenes. Can you pick out the steel ones? There’s more than one, that’s all I’ll say! Drop a comment with the letters you think correspond to the steel versions from each photo!

Since we had three of these ready to head out to their new owners I thought I’d grab some photos of one of our lineage Mando helmets. These were painted with alumaluster from ImperialSurface and then weathered back with oils. The great thing about Djin’s helmet is that you can pretty much pick any level of weathering you like from almost clean to caked in mud, and there’ll be a scene from the show to match.

I’ve wanted to do this for ages, chrome Vader helmet! Painted and then very gently weathered like the Mandalorian helmet. Painted using alumaluster from ImperialSurface

As I was painting I was trying to come up with an in-universe explanation for why this helmet might exist like this, and eventually decided “F*** it, it exists because it’s cool!”

I don’t usually post personal stuff but a slight rejig of the personal collection in the nerd room I thought warranted sharing. Quality over quantity is the watchword when you have a small space like this!
