Something special has been taking shape in my studio.

Many people have asked whether I will teach more in-person classes, as lately I have concentrated mainly on teaching online. So, together with a wonderful team, we are creating a residential feltmaking and wellbeing retreat.

At the heart of the retreat is the Triskele—the power of three. This ancient spiral symbol is associated with movement, growth and the continuous cycles of life. For our retreat, its three spirals represent creativity, wellbeing and connection.

The Triskele will also be at the heart of the felted garment we create together. This new summer kimono is where I am beginning to explore the design and take the spiral techniques from my Spiral Symphony collection and online class in a completely new direction.

A few final details are still being arranged, but I hope to share the full retreat programme with you this week. I am very excited about what we are creating.

I have chosen to dye it in turquoise and green—colours that represent balance, renewal, and a deep, grounding connection to the earth.

The lotus symbolises rebirth, creation, and the sun.

Leaves capture sunlight and transform it into energy, while buds hold concentrated energy, waiting to unfold into new growth.

I made this seamless felted jacket on a standard table size. I gave emphasis on comfortable fit and texture. Amongst all resent jackets I made, this one is my favourite.
