Repairing wood with steam.

Did you know you can fix dents in wood with a damp cloth and an iron?
Steam repairs wood dents by hydrating compressed fibers, causing them to swell back to their original position. This technique is most effective on unfinished, solid wood using a damp cotton cloth and a hot clothing iron to apply heat and moisture, which causes the dent to lift and become flush with the surface. As you can see here, its made a huge difference to how this solid oak table arrived to us.

These stunning oak chairs were purchased by our customer, who had a clear vision in mind - to match them perfectly with her beautiful table. The chairs were a bit dark and lacked the vibrancy she was looking for, so she brought them to us to work our magic. We carefully cleaned them up, removing any dirt and grime that had built up over time, and then took them back to their original colour, revealing the rich, warm tones of the oak wood. Finally, we relacquered them to give them a glossy finish that would complement her table perfectly. Now, the chairs look like new and our customer couldn't be happier with the result! 💕

This beautiful antique chest came to us to be sprayed and made to look fresh. Upon closer inspection, we realised we couldn't actually spray it due to the materials it was made of. So with a bit of research into how it was made, and using his many years of experience-Russell was able to restore this using more traditional techniques, closer to French polishing. The finished result was a stunning, hand restored item!

A recent kitchen respray we have completed. This customer had a good quality kitchen that they felt was a bit out dated. 2 new colours later and it looks like a brand new kitchen (at a fraction of the cost!)
