Working with Purple Heart tonight. Spent the best part of 4 hours cutting and sanding a length to a 90mm x 90mm post ready to cut into coasters.

Experimental test conducted with a Royal Engineers capbadge. Quite pleased if I must say lol.

Will leave it out jn the sun tomorrow for a richer colour.

Todays mission:

1. Square off a rough sawn oak post to 90x90mm.
2. Cut into 10mm slices.
3. Spend all evening engraving Highland Cow Coatsers as the last batch has all sold out.

Only thing left is a light sandjng and tung oil, oh and not forgetting some felt feet.

I was asked if i could make a set of coasters with a Piggy theme and made from Purple Heart wood.

Really enjoyed making these, more so coming up with the design of the piggies.

Dimensions are 90mm x 90mm x 10mm, all have feet on the base.

Need to leave them out in the sun to soak up some UV to get a deeper purple colour before finishing with Danish Oil.

2 new Poppy / Remembrance plaques started.

Decided to add to the collection and have 2 "Sapper Searching" plaques, one to remember those fallen or serving during past conflicts and a modern day image.

The final details including poppies painting red, vanished and wall mounting hook attached the back.

Carol has asked me to put her latest Decoupage slate coasters creations up.

These all have the Decoupage touch and finished with a layer of UV Resin to give a protective and glossy finish.

Ready now and in time for Halloween.
