Our life has taken yet another new path! Howard & I have purchased a lot and will be building a new home in the Lakes of Pine Forest at Oak Island in North Carolina. We will be 10 minutes from the amazing Oak Island Beach. We are now in the planning stage and our first step was choosing our exterior. Our home will be SW Resolute Blue with SW Pure White Shaker Style Shingle accents, garage, trim and shutters. To give our home an additional pop of color our front door will be SW Tidewater. Follow along as we build our coastal home.

Welcome to Neist Point Lighthouse on the beautiful Isle of Skye in Scotland. It is located on the northwest area of the island. This is a must do that will satisfy hikers and non-hikers alike. The cliffs are a short walk from the free parking lot. The beauty of the area starts there. If you are interested in an adventurous walk, a staircase descends the cliff taking you towards the lighthouse. For those of you like me that want that beautiful lighthouse view it is much easier to achieve without the strenuous walk. A short walk up the nearby bluff takes you to a great area to view the large cliff and the lighthouse that sits behind it. These photos were taken on my iPhone using the zoom. If you’re really interested in seeing details without the climb I recommend binoculars. This entire area is a photographer’s paradise.

The Walhalla Memorial sits outside Regensburg, Germany on the Danube River. It is a Hall of Fame Monument built in 1842 that displays the busts of distinguished people. We didn’t climb the numerous stairs to the different levels but the views from the main level were beautiful as was the monument itself. There is a 5 euro entrance fee to the interior, which I thought was high considering it was only one room. However it was so gorgeous inside I was happy I entered. A short walk away from The Walhalla is an outdoor seating area and a small building offering drinks and small bites to eat. Our visit amounted to less than 2 hours but was very enjoyable. There was low cost parking nearby and the city of Regensburg is a short drive away.
