What an absolutely amazing last few weeks I've had working for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with an awesome team of seamstresses! 🧵🪡
Our task was to sew on all the Judo name backpatches to nearly 500 Judo kits and do any alterations, repairs or patches throughout the competition. 😱 Each athlete requires both a white and a blue Judogi to compete at international level.
Thank you to my entire team Glo del Monte Hazel Corcoran Iona Millie Collins and Glo del Monte - you were all fantastic! 🌟 Nothing was ever a problem, if we had to stay longer (and we did several times!), you all stepped up. We had great chat and fun while working extremely hard in a fast paced environment. 🥋
Thank you to James from for providing all our dual feed Jack Sewing Machines UK - they were brilliant!

*Not paid* Special mention to Sassy Saints for my fab gold sparkly nails that lastest throughout the games! ✨ Love these as an alternative to UV gel nails. ♥️

Loved making the final banners for Glasgow 2026 last week outside in the sunshine. ☀️

Hope we get some more sunshine this week, though I will mostly be indoors sewing Judogi! 🥋🪡🧵

It's been a busy few weeks getting everything Scottish Event Campus and OVO Hydro looking great and running smoothly for the Commonwealth Games. 🥇

The atmosphere on site has been fantastic and I'm really excited to be working for the Judo teams this week.🧵🪡

As most of you know, I also run another company All About The Move with my friend Kath. A few months ago, we sat down for a tasty lunch Ralph & Finns Bar lunch with Vicky from FreeAgent to talk about the story behind All About the Move for their “Making It Count” feature.

We honestly couldn’t be more grateful for how beautifully captured both our business and the heart behind it.

Seeing six years of hard work, friendship, chaos, growth and very special clients reflected back to us in words felt incredibly emotional.

A huge thank you to Free Agent and to Vicky Carroll for telling our story with such warmth and care.

Thank you to Maitland Walker for introducing us to the wonderful clients who very kindly allowed us to use their beautiful home for the photoshoot and to for taking such lovely on location photos. 📸

Busy week in the Armadillo! 💪🏻
We spent the week removing all the old drapes that were 27 years old! Then hung and adjusted all the new drapes from to fit around the lighting rigs etc. I then designed and made 4 new side door curtains from the offcuts.
I will be shortening the old blue velvet stage curtains and valance so they can be used on the Lomond stage. 🧵🪡
And the rest of the drapes were collected by another theatre company so they can be altered, reused and kept out of landfill. 🌍

Ever wondered why the SEC needs an interior designer and seamstress? 🧵🪡
Walk with me through my day yesterday... 🚶🏻‍♀️First I had a meeting to discuss issues with sound quality in the then I fixed 4 broken snap frame drapes (I designed and made every single set of those that you see across all 3 buildings 💪🏻). Next I fixed and rehung a multi purpose room curtain and measured up to replace the other one that has mysteriously gone missing! 🪄 (You would not believe the number of times production teams steal our drapes! 😤)
After lunch I moved into the main SEC building to fix another flag that had succumbed to the great Scottish weather. 🌬️☔ Finally I fixed 3 x 30ft wool serge drapes that divide halls 4 & 5. 😃
What I love about my work the is that we ALWAYS strive to keep our drapes, soft furnishings, upholstery and even flags well maintained and repaired, rather than just constantly replacing them. Even when they reach the end of their life as a drape, we reuse the fabric for repairs. 🌍
