10kH Ten Thousand Hours is a small upholstery business that customises pieces in need of (re)upholstery.We are committed to sourcing and using unique and beautiful textiles, exploring mixtures of textures and colours and maintaining a high quality, hand crafted service. Silvia Perez and Rose Black met at college, which was a career change for both: a new direction with an opportunity to learn new
skills and be creative. Upholstery is all about giving furniture a second chance; the old made new with contemporary style and flair. Therefore, at 10kH the emphasis, as you could expect is on attention to detail and creativity. When it came to choosing a name for their partnership Silvia and Rose agreed that 10kH summed up the ethos they wanted to create. The premise is that practice can lead to perfection in a chosen skill. Add to their determination for proficiency and the passion that they share for the transformation and customising any neglected, tired or currently unloved chairs into unique creations then you have the spirit of 10kH.
