A gorgeous mirl in the sky the other evening.

Ever wondered where we get our name from? Mirl is an old Shetland Scots word with a few different uses, one of which describes speckled, marbled or shimmering effects in nature, like the body of a mackerel or glowing plankton in the water, or indeed scattered clouds across the evening sky.

Working on a few different projects at the moment, including some interiors for a very cool wee hut in this fiery black and tangerine colourway. We also have studio shelving, a giant dining table and campervan interiors on the boil.

Chuffed to see that the mighty Dundee Design Festival has secured funding for its 2027 iteration. Always an absolute showstopper, here’s our meat table, and pendant light collab with , from the spectacular hanger-like location in 2025.

Well done to the crew for bringing it back for 2027 🥳

Really pleased to share that and have been nominated for several awards for their outstanding design work on The Nook, ’s groundbreaking mental health hub. We were very honoured to contribute some Mirrl to their vision, alongside a slew of other makers and shakers. I’ve added some image details of the table we were commissioned to make for the space here, but do go check out the full glory of the space and all the incredible contributions!
