Looking for a pretty purple shade? Purple Orchid is an attractive light pastel purple that glows as wonderfully as the wild orchid that the colour name was inspired by.

In homes this delicate shade of purple is a popular choice, being used to brighten up rooms and elevate your mood. The flat matt chalky finish of Wall Paint produces a calm atmosphere that works equally well in a modern or heritage design.

Inspired by nature, Purple Orchid sits in gardens like it was meant to be there, adding soft splashes of colour on planters or as an attractive feature on a summerhouse.

Peelable Paint – Roll On, Peel Off 🦀 🎨

Such a simple paint for shading, screening and decorating windows. Made with a 100% recycled plastics resin, once dried the coating has an elasticity that allows the paint coating to be peeled off in a very satisfying peel 😀

The coating continues to harden the longer it’s left on for so if you love what you’ve painted, just leave it on and it will become a durable water-repellent coating that will stay on for years!

What colour would you use?

In a previous garden I had painted our swing seat in a colour scheme to perfectly suit the pink clematis montana that it sat under.

Lead Grey was paired with Rock Rose Wood Paint for a country cottage feel, with a floral stencil painted in Rock Rose on the cross beam to complete the look. It looked beautiful and provided many hours of relaxation in the garden.

After moving house it felt like the colour scheme didn’t suit the new location so when a maintenance coat was needed, I decided to go for a new colour combination that would fit the surroundings better.

With the swing seat sitting on a stone terrace looking out over the Somerset Levels it only seemed appropriate to paint it in Wetlands Green with Doulting Stone to contrast against the fresh green paint colour and stones of the terrace and house.

It was a cold but dry and sunny wintery spell when I painted. You can paint Thorndown Wood Paint in temperatures as low as 0oC and fingerless gloves helped against the chill. Two coats of Wetlands Green were painted on the main frame with three coats of Doulting Stone on the seat and horizontal drinks shelves to provide extra durability from wear and weather.

The change in colour has created a totally different atmosphere and wonderful vantage point to enjoy glorious sunsets in the Somerset countryside.

What colour scheme is your favourite?

Fall in love with this beautiful dreamy blue 🩵

Hitting high in the Best Selling Paint Colours charts, Adonis Blue is a light and pretty pastel blue that looks at home on beach huts at a sunny seaside and adorning walls in the home.

Inspired by the Adonis butterfly found in the Mendips of Somerset, this handsome blue colour recently had an uplift in popularity for Wall Paint, in part due to the denim trend that hit interior design.

How cute are these spider plant jars 🕷️? I saved a couple of pretty glass jars to re-plant two young spider plants in, using Peelable Glass Paint and a spider stencil from the Halloween Stencil Craft Pack to decorate them with in a spider theme.

For the leaves I painted on a variety of colours and added details in contrasting colours.

A layer of plant gravel at the bottom of the jars will help make sure the roots don’t sit in soggy compost, and a mix of compost and gravel above helps with drainage.

Filled up with the spider plant and more compost the plants will grow happily and look fantastic in their spider themed glass planters 🕷️

40ml Peelable Glass Paint colours used: Cathedral Green, Chantry Cream, Goblin Green & Wispy Willow with White Witch for the spider stencil.

Price increase comes into effect tomorrow, Monday 1st June

After a succession of price increases of up to 17% for raw materials, packaging, couriers, energy, employment, and pretty much anything else you can think of, we are having to increase the price of our paint products.

We haven't increased our prices since 2024 and are still very competitively priced compared to other high street brands so you're still getting good value for money for premium paints. For example, when comparing our Wood Paint prices to comparable Coat and Farrow & Ball paint their 2.5 litre tins are £72.00 and £89.00 respectively (advertised prices on websites April 2026) as opposed to ours which is just going up to £60.00.

A price increase of less than 10% on Wood Paint and Wall Paint will come into effect from Monday 1st June 2026.

In good news the price of Wood Preserver & Stain Blocking Primer will stay the same and Peelable Glass Paint will not go up either as it is primarily made of a 100% recycled plastic resin so is not as affected by current global conditions and price increases.

You can email us on [email protected] to request a new price list.

Cool, simple and elegant, Swan White is a pure brilliant white paint that will whiten and brighten your home.

The paint name was inspired by the swans that annually make a home on the moat at the Bishop’s Palace in Wells near to the paint factory, raising their cygnets and ringing the bell on the gatehouse for snacks!

Swan White is so versatile in the home and garden that it has sat in the top selling paint colour charts for both Wood Paint and Wall Paint for years.

Roller onto greenhouse windows when the sun gets strong to protect your seedlings and plants from being scorched, then at the end of the season just pick at a corner of the paint coating and peel it off.
