I usually draw patterns using my laptop and Wacom drawing pad. This works very well for smaller patterns. When I work on bigger patterns, with a lot of details, I find it's a good practice to print out the pattern and check for all those small pieces and curves. I find it much easier to spot any mistakes on the paper than on the computer screen. I also check if the pattern is doable just by using a hand cutter and grinder. Why? Because I don't have a saw and I want to make sure I can make a stained glass piece based on my own pattern when I'm asked to. Would I like a saw? Absolutely 😅

Do you want to know a secret?
I don't number my pieces, so every time I need to lay the pieces on the pattern (after cutting, grinding, washing, foiling, and so on) it's like doing puzzles... and I love puzzles, but only the difficult ones with loads of pieces 😂
Most of the pieces are now cut with the exception of the snakes. I'm in the process of fitting everything together before I focus on the snakes, as they will require a little bit more focus as I need to cut two sets of glass for each piece that will hold the snake shed.

How wonderful it is to see so many flowers around. Yesterday on my walk I spotted some snowdrops, daffodils, and crocuse...

Here we go! I think this will take me a little longer than usual, as it is quite a big piece with a lot of extra work like doing some foil overlay and adding a snake shed between the glass. I'm also trying to improve my skills using grazing pliers, so so far it is a slow, but enjoyable process.
