Ok so this isn’t my doctors surgery but I saw this post yesterday and what a fab idea to support and share.
Many of you know my health journey and living with a chronic illness affects every part of your life…. It’s not just resting and sympathy….its waking everyday not knowing what part of your body will play up today 🤣…
It’s waking in pain and going to bed in pain….
It’s cancelling fun plans…or not being able to go on holiday because you can’t get health insurance or fly.
It affects relationships with everyone around you…. It affects what you can eat and when
It changes your physical appearance from wearing wigs to scars and rashes which changes how you feel not only about yourself but also the fairness in life 🙈
I love to be creative and I also love people. Expressing how I feel through the things I make not only gives me purpose when physically I can’t achieve all I want too but it also helps express how I’m feeling when the words feel too difficult ❤️
I will always be eternally grateful to the nhs for saving not only my life on more then one occasion but also my child’s and my loved ones. But until you have no choice but to rely on the nhs daily you won’t be familiar with the gaps in the system and one gap I’m passionate about is the failing mental health service ( not only adult mental health but also children’s mental health ) this is NOT the nhs fault….its under funded and there are more ways to help mental health with alternative methods which have not been rolled out 😢 so many ideas come to mind but when I see projects like this 🥰 people helping people is what it’s all about so please if you can like and share this amazing new project help them achieve the results they are looking for….and you never know who you will inspire to take part…. What new service will come from it?! You don’t have to be a doctor to save someone’s life 🤣💋
Have you ever tried to access mental health support and felt lost in the system? 🧩❤️
"A Piece of Me" is a relaxed, creative workshop inviting patients, staff, community groups, and local services to come together and share their experiences of mental health support in Gosport.
Together, we’ll explore what works, what gets in the way, and what support could look like when digital access and human connection work better together.
🎨 Do I need to be artistic?
Absolutely not! You can join in by talking, doodling, writing, listening, or quietly adding your thoughts. Your ideas will help build a shared jigsaw artwork showing the missing pieces in current support and what a more connected future could look like.
Come along, share your piece of the story, and help shape a more human approach to mental health support in our community. 🌟
