Opinions!!!!

I’m running my first proper stall in November at fort brockhurst and I’d love to know what you all think I should make?

Do I go big and make detailed things? Christmas bears, quilted wreaths…

Or small and pocket money price? Zip purses, bunting, badges

Anything you noticed sells well? Or would love to see me make? Added points for photo comments for inspiration lol

For those who have been to craft fairs before or ran them….any tips? Any advice?

On days like today….. nothing excites me more then the rain falling whilst I’m curled up in the art room feeling very creative 🥰

Some people think logically….some people solve problems mathematically. … for me it’s all about creativity ❤️ I wish people could see what’s my mind shows me 🤪 I know I’m a little bit bonkers but I can look at an empty cereal box or a tube and think of 100 things to make with it 🤣

So excited to announce this week I get a confirmation email of my place running my first stall at fort brockhurst Christmas festival ❤️❤️❤️

My mind is going wild with ideas of what to make…. From fabric trees to wreaths and mini fairy’s I will of course be making some of my normal best sellers of Santa and reindeers 🥰 all ideas welcomed so if you have seen something cute on Pinterest or adverts that you think I will be able to achieve please let me know. I don’t usually do stalls or fairs as with memory keepsakes they are custom made 😬 but who doesn’t love a Christmas bear from Santa? And I can always take leaflets and business cards to show people what I can do should they want a custom made keepsake in the future 🤷🏻‍♀️

From all you clever people who run stalls any tips? Or tricks? Do you go low with prices or keep them at there true value? I appreciate any advice xx Fort Brockhurst

Hello my lovely people…

I hope you had a lovely weekend relaxing with family and friends ?

When I started my little keepsake hobby….of course money was a big factor… I have worked hard all my life to provide for my children… in my past Iv had two jobs at the same time just to help contribute to me I wanted to work as long as possible.6 months later I begin to lose
My hair and had to wear wigs. it was getting harder to hide but my last work were amazing they knew I was finding work harder so they came up with a lovely idea…. They asked me how I felt about dropping Wednesday? It ment I had Monday and Tuesday full days but then Wednesday I could get some rest before continuing working Thursday and Friday

A year on and things had taken even more of a turn… I was vomiting a lot which was causing a problem with our staff children ratios every time I’d need cover to run to he loo to be sick it was awful. The pain was also increasing and I was having so many hospital appointments so I made the decision as scary as it was I needed a break from working. I looked into means tested financially help but sadly my husband who works full time to support us so we didn’t qualify for help which personally I I find shocking as he dosnt earn two wage income 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sewing your keep sakes means so very much to me 🥰 it relaxes me and also helps with my self esteem… I get a great sense of pride 🤪 but I’m trying to work out more ways to make my life more easier and not such a difficult.

one of these ideas are…

🧸 I now have a little sewing helper…. Meet Pippa she’s a friend daughter who loves anything crafty so I!!! I plan to teach her all I know in step by géyqsteps guidance

🧸 I love the creative side of the hobby but I’m not so good with the organisation so Iv made this amazing folder with pre planned forms ❤️ from business ideas to invoices and calendars watch this girl take on the organisation world 🤣

🧸 Iv signed up for the first big Christmas stall in November in the hope to make money and get my name out there 🥰

🧸 and then my last idea….is to help get my name out there! There are so many truly amazing talented people in the local area who make magical memory keep sakes. Trying to stand out in such a competitive market has not been easy so Iv had some leaflets and business cards made up so I’m hoping local shops or spaces would allows me to leave some in their waiting rooms or windows 🙏

Thank you so much for all your support, love and understanding ### living with a auto immune conditions means some days I’m oka d sadly other days I’m just trying to make it through the day to bed time 🤣 xx

I DID IT!!!

as you all know I have been making memory keepsake bears for a couple of years now and currently have 7 bear designs on offer. Each one offer something different but for me personally each one has something I love in the design for different reasons. Choosing which bear design you love is a very personal preference but I felt confident enough now to try and make my own template pattern 🥰

Here’s the first prototypes and I personally love them ❤️

Now there’s a few things that need tweaking

🐻 the nose width could be shortened a little

🐻 the bears waist coat could be shortened a tad

🐻 the dress bodice needs shortening and dress taken up the frill

🐻 maybe add bows or flowers to the girl bear head to even out the detail.

But I’m so pleased with how they look. They sit around 35cm can be patchworked or pocket backed for voice boxes ❤️

Personalisation can be added to the chest, feet, ears or paw pads ❤️ and the added option of a photo of a passed loved one can be added to fabric and used in the design for either the foot or clothing.

The bears have the added option of either a built in front vest and removable bow tie or mini dress with bow fastening so the mini dress can be hand washed. Or a mini tshirt can be added.

So excited Iv booked on to one of my first ever sewing classes ❤️ and what a class it sounds like it will be! Hello lovely people

When I started my little hobby I wanted to make a page not only to help promote what I do…making memory keepsakes ( with the hope it would help me financially of course and get more orders HONESTY 🤣 ) but also to share with people my personal journey with my auto immune condition and how art and crafting has helped me deal with it…both physically and mentally.

It’s true that when I’m in pain and the morphine hasn’t helped I often turn to hand sewing in those moments it’s not about how quick I can turn my orders out ( of course machine sewing is quicker ) in those moments nothing matters but trying to make each stitch the same size….and as neat as possible. i can’t see the end result…..or even any mistakes….just the needle going in and out…. I can’t think about what’s happening to my body or what’s to come next…. It’s simple…it’s peaceful! so much so I have the added enjoyment of an easy watch on telly like a movie Iv seen 100 times lol or father brown. When I’m know longer in control of my body…. I can control the needle 🪡 which helps me mentally more then people know ❤️

But what happens when I’m too poorly to sew?!

The truth is I struggle 🙈 it’s true I had the most magical 40th birthday and I was expecting to have a flare from pushing my body for a few weeks….. I expected…..

⭐️The arthritis and my hip, spine joint pain…
⭐️I expected to vomit more
⭐️I expected the malor rash with vasculitis
And I thought my oxygen sats would drop….

😩But what I didn’t expect was not being able to wee in the day but weeing of a night and waking in the morning to swollen face 🤦🏻‍♀️

😩I didn’t expect the sickness waves to be so intense I’m having to inject antimetics and take tablets to hold fluid down.

😩My doctor wanted a urine sample to check my kidney function to receive a phone call later that day to say I have nitrites which means some sort of uti.

😩I didn’t expect yet more teeth to brake and one of those get infected.

😩I didn’t expect to get collar bone pain when ever I breath out ( I’m having my bloods check to see if I’m anemic again ) I’m losing blood so it would make sense.

😩😩My mouth surgery was cancelled last minute last weekend I set the alarm for 5:40 to arrive for 7 went all through medications I can’t spell as I’m currently on 38 tablets a day lol got in the gowns for the surgeon to say it’s too risky to do the op today and he wants to re schedule for when more people are on deck given I’m neautrpanic have low platelets and now two infections and on oxygen. I wasn’t angry….i just felt like it’s someone else too scared to help me and me left fighting more silently 😩

So Iv plodded along this week trying to manage at home Iv upped my steroids, Iv been taking two kinds of antibiotics ontop of my normal meds and my time has consisted of nothing but bed and sleep physically Iv not improved and mentally I find it hard to deal with negative feelings and thoughts going through my head….what do you do when your head and body are not aligned my head is say this needs doing that needs doing I want to get on but my body won’t even let me stand up without the room spinning my eye sight going blank…my mood is telling me have fun or go to my happy sewing place but my body just won’t let me 🤦🏻‍♀️😩 so I have got back in bed and made myself a happy mood board…. This sums up everything I love in life from cupcakes to Christmas lol I think all dating sites should put mood boards on there profiles it would really show peoples personalities right infront of us lol….. interested to see what dose my mood board say about me to you?!? lol

And hey maybe a negative mood board would be funny to see too 🤣🤣

Thank you all for your support being chronically ill can make you very lonely so thank you 💋 here’s my happy mood board….and some info bits about living with sle and tonight I’m going to try make some of the projects Iv made into a page to spare me on with new ideas and projects.
