A closer look at this herringbone LVT installation 👀

The warm wood tones look brilliant across the living room and kitchen, but it’s the border that really finishes it off. We’ve carried it around the edges of the room and neatly around the kitchen units, with every corner carefully cut to follow the shape of the space.

75m² of LVT herringbone, finished with a straight-plank border and brass feature strip — a true labour of love.

Before work began, the concrete slab was moisture-tested and the readings showed that treatment was required. We used a complete UltraFloor preparation system:

• Mechanically ground the entire slab to remove surface laitance
• Applied an epoxy DPM across the full area
• Applied two coats of primer
• Finished with a full smoothing compound application

Once the subfloor met the required standard, we carefully set out the LVT, centring the herringbone pattern through the main focal point of the hallway.

The following three days involved plenty of long hours, patience and attention to detail. Every border, corner and brass feature strip was carefully cut and fitted to achieve the highest-quality finish possible.

Four toilets were also completed in the same flooring, creating a consistent finish throughout the property.

Another post will follow featuring the beautiful carpet stair runner, stair rods and living room.

A big thank you to everyone who helped get this one over the line:

Tom and Aaron — plus Brandon from Robertson Flooring.

Outstanding team effort and a finish we’re extremely proud of. 👏
