After almost 2 years these fantastic chairs gave up there history originally made for The Temple 3 paper buildings by Gillows designed by the best of his time and as always the hardest working.
AWN Pugin 1841 each chair has a different carved freeze aesthetic Gothic in golden oak,
Need I believe to be put back to the original green as shown in one of the pictures of a chair still present at 3 paper buildings believed to have been for the library which was rebuilt 1841 and later extended in 1861 the same but simpler version adorns the Houses of Parliament and the Lords and can be seen in V&A collection but these are definitely so much more than in design and meaning . #
