Another great project completed in Riverview Park.
For this home, we completely refreshed multiple areas to give it a clean, modern finish throughout.

The lounge was fitted with Cormar Inglewood Saxony carpet, a great choice for comfort underfoot and everyday family living.

In the hallway, we prepared the floor with Kelmore Absolute 30 smoothing compound before installing J2 Natural Timbers Glacia Oak LVT in a herringbone design with a border detail. The finished look really makes an impact as soon as you walk through the door.

We also updated the staircase by removing the old bannister rails and replacing them with modern square spindles and new posts, giving the entrance a much more contemporary feel.

A 16th century Grade II listed cottage in Faversham deserves more than a standard flooring installation.

The existing subfloor was uneven and had no structural Damp Proof Membrane, so preparation was key from the very beginning.

We diamond ground the entire base to remove years of contaminants before installing a fully tanked liquid DPM system to protect the new floor for the long term.

With the groundwork complete, we installed this stunning real wood herringbone floor finished with a detailed border design. Every section required accurate marking and precise cutting to maintain a clean, consistent expansion gap around the period features throughout the property.

“They said it can’t be done”

This customer was told by other local companies that wrapping their staircase in LVT without metal trims on the step noses wasn’t possible.

With the right knowledge, preparation and installation methods, it absolutely is.

We removed the customer’s previous LVT from the hallway and lounge after they were no longer happy with the finish, then installed this beautiful herringbone oak from the J2flooring Iconic range throughout the space.

The real feature is the staircase.

We stripped out the old carpet and fully wrapped the stairs in matching J2 Iconic large plank LVT, finished with pure white wood laminate risers for a sharp, clean contrast that completely changes the entrance to the home.

This new range from J2 Flooring stands out for its detailed grain design and textured surface finish. You need to see and feel these large samples in person to appreciate the quality properly.

Meet Tony Moorhouse, owner of Your New Floor. 👋

Tony has worked in the flooring industry for 30 years, starting in a general flooring wholesaler's office before moving into area sales roles for flooring and wood and laminate distribution. He fitted his first floor in 1999 and went on to start ‘The Mobile Floor Shop’ in 2003, which later became Your New Floor around 2005/2006.

What matters most to Tony is making sure customers receive the professional service they have paid for. Poor installations remain one of his biggest frustrations because customers place trust in a company to complete the job correctly and with care.

For Tony, a great installation is one that looks its best for years to come and is completed with care and respect for the customer’s home.

He is most proud of the fantastic team built at Your New Floor and the genuine care shown to customers every day.

Tony also believes many customers arrive with misunderstood ideas about which flooring products are right for their home. Every flooring type has different benefits and choosing the right product for the right environment makes all the difference.
