With Christmas coming and family visits on the way, this is exactly the time of year when people start looking at their hallway, living room or kitchen floor and thinking "that needs sorting before everyone comes round." If that's you, now's the time to start rather than leaving it until December, since a proper job means measuring, ordering and fitting done properly, not rushed.

Whether it's a tired carpet that's seen too many Christmases already or a kitchen floor that could do with a refresh before the cooking and the crowds arrive, pop into the showroom and have a look at what's on offer. Our team can talk you through what will actually work for your home and your timeframe, so you're not still living with dust sheets on Christmas Eve.

Book in now and there's still time to have it looking its best before the big day.

With the clocks about to go back and the heating creeping back on, we've had a few customers in the showroom asking the same question this week... can you actually fit LVT over underfloor heating?

The answer is yes, and it's actually one of the better options for it. Unlike carpet, which acts as an insulator and can trap the heat before it ever reaches the room, LVT is thin and conducts warmth well, so the floor heats up faster and more evenly without wasting energy trying to push through it.

It's not quite as simple as just laying it down over your existing system, though. The adhesive has to be one rated for underfloor heating, the flooring needs time to acclimatise to the room before fitting, and the heating itself has to be brought up gradually once it's installed rather than switched straight to full power, or the floor can react to the sudden change in temperature. It's exactly the kind of detail that's easy to miss if you're fitting it yourself or going with whoever's cheapest, and it's why we always talk it through properly before recommending anything.

If you're planning ahead for winter and weighing up your options, come in and have a chat with the team or give us a call, and we'll walk you through what would work best for your home and your heating system.

For this recent fitting, our team took care of the whole job. We moved the furniture, uplifted and disposed of the old carpet, fitted this lovely silky new carpet, then put the furniture back in place.

It’s all part of making your new flooring as straightforward as possible.

This carpet is available to order from the range in our Gravesend showroom, so pop in if you’d like to see and feel a sample for yourself.

There’s a reason this is our most popular carpet...
Another installation of Cormar Primo Ultra, our best-selling carpet and a firm favourite with our customers.

This time, we paired it with Cloud 9 Connoisseur luxury underlay for that extra bit of comfort underfoot.

A great combination for a soft, comfortable finish that looks right at home. 👌

If you’re choosing a new carpet, pop into our Gravesend showroom and see why Primo Ultra is such a popular choice.
