Good morning ☕️

Well, it's been another very quiet few days around here — a bit of gardening, a bit of drawing, far too much time spent on the internet and YouTube, and generally just pottering about. 😂

But with our trip to Scotland getting closer, it's definitely starting to feel like it's creeping into my thoughts more and more! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hubby has just got a new GoPro and, of course, I've got my new camera, so we're both having fun getting used to our new toys and hopefully getting ourselves prepared for some serious photography when we're away. 📷😂

So I thought I'd share a few of my Highland cow pictures today — a little reminder of what's waiting for us in Scotland. 🐮❤️

For now though, I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend and hopefully a bit more drawing and creating.

Happy weekend everyone! 😊❤️

Good morning ☕️

Well, yesterday didn't quite go to plan! 😂 I was supposed to get out for a walk and do some more work on the portrait, and I was also hoping to make a start on my little robin bag charm… but then my new camera arrived! 📷

Needless to say, I spent rather a lot of time playing with it in the garden instead. 😂🌿

I was so pleased when this little blue tit flew down to feed while I was only a few feet away. I managed to get a few photos before it disappeared, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know the camera properly and seeing what else I can capture.

So today I think I need to do a bit of catching up — hopefully a walk, some more time with the portrait and maybe, just maybe, I'll finally get that robin started! 🐦🎨

Hope you all have a lovely day ❤️

Good morning ☕️

Yesterday was another fairly quiet day, although I did manage to get out for a walk and even did a little bit of gardening in between the showers. 🌿

The portrait is really starting to come together now, and I'm getting to the stage where I'm quite enjoying seeing it take shape. 🎨 I took it along to art club last night too, although as usual I probably spent more time talking than actually drawing! 😂

Today looks like another rather gloomy one, but at least the rain is staying away for now. I need to do some shopping and I'm hoping to get out for another walk, and I might even make a start on a little felted robin bag charm. 🐦

So that's probably enough excitement for one day! 😂

Hope you all have a lovely day ❤️

Good morning ☕️

Well, yesterday was another fairly quiet day, although I'm definitely starting to get used to this retirement lark! 😂

I did a little more on my portrait and I'm fairly happy with how it's coming along, so hopefully I'll have something more to show you soon. 🎨

I also spent some time sitting in the garden with my morning coffee and managed to get some photos of a dragonfly and damselfly. 🪷 I was amazed when the dragonfly stayed around for well over three hours — it certainly gave me plenty of time to watch it and try to get some decent photos! 📷

Today will probably be more of the same, although I might try to get out for a walk. Then it's art club this evening, so I'm hoping to get a bit more done on the portrait there.

Not a particularly exciting life at the moment, but I'm rather enjoying the slower pace. 😊

Hope you all have a lovely day ❤️

Good morning ☕️

Well, another morning of retirement and I'm still getting used to the fact that I don't actually have to be anywhere! 😂

Yesterday was a mixture of thinning out some of the pond plants, a trip to the shops, doing a tiny bit more on my portrait and, of course, spending far too much time scrolling around the internet without really knowing what I was looking for! 🤣

Today will probably be another quiet one. A little more work on the portrait, some garden pottering and probably a bit of YouTube thrown in somewhere.

I took this photo in the garden yesterday and I really like the way the pink grass plumes seem to lead your eye across the pond towards the yellow and purple flowers. 🌿💗💛

I'm rather enjoying having the time to notice little things like that. ❤️

What are you up to today?

🌿Good morning

Well, today marks the start of my first full week of retirement! 🎉😊

I had Friday and the weekend to begin getting used to the idea, and now it feels a little strange knowing I don't have to go to work anymore. I think it might take a while to get used to that! 😂

I've already been enjoying having more time in the garden, and I've also picked up my pencils again. ✏️❤️

This is the beginning of a new portrait I'm working on. It's very much a work in progress, but I thought I'd share a little glimpse of it so far.

Hopefully I'll have some more to show you as it develops. 😊

And now that I have a little more time, I'm hoping I might actually manage to pop in here a bit more often too! 🤞😂

Good morning ☕

Well, it’s been a while! 🙈 I suddenly realised it’s been months since I popped on here, so thought it was probably time to say hello and let you know I’m still about 😊

I haven’t been doing a huge amount of creating lately, but I have managed a few little bits — including this white moon gazing hare and ladybird 🐰🐞

I’m also working on a lovely portrait at the moment, so hopefully I’ll have an update to share with you soon 🎨

There are a few other things going on too, including the rather exciting fact that I’ll be retiring from the day job in just a few weeks! 😮 I’m hoping that might give me a little more time to enjoy my creativity, although I’m sure the garden will be competing for my attention 🌿😂 It could definitely do with some rain though!

I’ll try and pop in a little more often and share what I’m up to, even if it’s not always creative.

Anyway, lovely to be back — hope you’re all keeping well and having a good week ❤️

Good morning ☕

It’s been a few days since I last posted — still not quite found my creative mojo, so I thought I’d try something a little different 😊

These are some of the birds that visit my garden, and I thought it might be nice to take a bit of inspiration from them for a drawing.

If I were to create something next, which would you like to see — a blue tit, robin, wren or goldfinch? 🐦

Which one would you choose?

No promises just yet, but it might just help get me going again!

Hope you all have a lovely day ❤️

Good morning ☕

I’ve been finding it a bit hard to get back into posting lately, so just taking things slowly and not putting any pressure on myself.

Thought I’d share a little bit of the garden this morning — it’s looking nice in the sunshine and always feels like a good place to reset 🌿

Hoping to ease back into things gently 😊

Hope you all have a lovely day ❤️

Good morning ☕

Hope you all had a lovely Easter 🐣 I spent most of yesterday out in the garden which was nice, especially with the weather being so good 🌿

I managed to catch these visitors enjoying the pond — always nice to see a bit of wildlife about 😊

It looks like we’re in for a few more nice days as well, so I’m hoping to make the most of that when I can ☀️

Still not quite found my creative mojo yet, but I’m sure it will come back in its own time 😊

Hope you all have a lovely day ❤️
