Small WAHM hobby turned business, creating adored crochet items

Made By Moonlight was created from a love of all things handmade. Crochet for me started as a hobby that quickly turned into something more once people started requesting items, The name 'Made By moonlight' was chosen because all the items I began creating was done so at night once my children had gone to bed, it just seemed to be a perfect fit for my little business.

Happy Easter !! I’ve been a busy bunny 🥰😆
I was asked to make this cardigan for a regular customer and it’s been a real learning curve, no pattern to follow, just a photo for inspiration. Lots went wrong, lots of frogging and redoing 😜😆 it turned out well in the end though 👍🏼.

I’ve been quiet again……
Sometimes we need to take a breath, I’m very much one of those people that keep plowing through then realise ..it’s been a bit much, I don’t stop, my brain doesn’t stop, if I’m sat on the settee seemingly quiet you can guarantee I have a thousand thoughts racing through my brain, thinks I need to do, things I need to plan , lists I need to make or I’ll forget everything. Things I might need to worry about, deadlines , work, family, getting enough sleep, that I forget to do the things people find simple… return a text , check in with friends or relatives, post here.
I’m trying to avoid burning myself out again but I’m not sure I know how.
I’m a bit overwhelmed .

💙Sun Queen Pattern 💚
Once upon a time I fancied myself as a pattern designer pro… in the end I only ended up releasing one pattern, (which is available on my Etsy for instant download wooo!) . It was tested by a group of wonderful crocheters and they all smashed it!
I’m determined to release more patterns this year, I just need to grow extra arms or invent an eight day of the week…. I’m working on it.

I have a cardigan I’ve been asked to make for a repeat customer (love that!! 🥰) however the inspiration where my customer found the style hasn’t created the pattern so I’m having to improvise and create a pattern at the same time… watch this space!.
Customer is going vintage vibes for the colour selection.

💙 January is fully booked 💚
That’s me let busy for this month, please remember I’m taking on less and working slower .
At the end of last year I came back to made by moonlight after having nearly a year off, I needed to make time for myself and work through some bad habits I’d picked up by working myself too hard for too long- still worked my civilian job which is just as demanding 🥴😆.
So going forward I won’t be taking on too much and working all the hours day and night to keep other people happy at the cost to my own mental health.
