Another corner of this room that I just love 🤍

We made use of the awkward space under the eaves to create bespoke wardrobes, lots of hidden storage and a little dressing table in the middle.

The soft pink, floral wallpaper and antique brass details all came together so beautifully, pretty without feeling too little-girly, so hopefully something she’ll love for years to come.

And those handles 🥹 possibly my favourite detail.

A calm room is usually hiding a lot of very practical decisions 👀
This bespoke cabinetry gives everything a place without making the room feel heavy or overfilled. Soft colours, considered details and plenty of concealed storage mean it feels like part of the room, not simply a wall of cupboards.
Beautiful, yes. But more importantly, genuinely useful.
Save this if you’re planning fitted storage for your home.

I’m an interior designer and I don’t want your home to look designed.
There, I said it 😂
I want it to feel collected. Like pieces have found their way into the room over time, rather than everything arriving in one enormous delivery.
Something old next to something new. Books that have actually been read. Art you love. Different textures. Something slightly unexpected. And always a bit of greenery.
The best rooms, for me, are the ones that feel considered without feeling too perfect.
That’s usually the final layer I’m looking for when I’m styling a finished project.
Save this one if you’re trying to make your own home feel a little less “show home” and a little more you.

The yellow cabinetry deserved a post of its own 💛
I wanted this bedroom to feel playful without being overly themed, and this warm buttery yellow completely changed the feel of the room. The Shaker detailing keeps it classic, while the little scalloped cut-outs add something fun and give what could have been quite plain cabinetry much more character.

A room to grow up in 🤍

With a new addition to the family, this once-plain loft bedroom was ready to become a space for their little girl, somewhere that could feel magical to her now, but grow with her over time.

I’m a sucker for bespoke cabinetry, and with that little window tucked into the eaves, a window seat felt like a must. For now, it’s her little castle, somewhere for bedtime stories and watching the world go by. One day, it might be where she curls up with a book or journals (or scrolls on her phone).

We packed in plenty of practical storage with deep drawers and cupboards, while little details like the cut-outs, scalloped edges and colour bring depth and character to what could otherwise have felt like quite a plain space.

Playful now, purposeful later. 🤍

Family holidays, day trips, slow days in the sunshine and lots (and lots!) of family time. Feeling very grateful for all of it.

Behind the scenes there’s also been the summer juggle, squeezing work in where I can, a couple of lovely new projects getting underway, site visits and lots happening ready for a busy September. It’s been a learning curve but one I feel so grateful to have the opportunity to learn!

Now somehow we’re down to the last couple of days before school starts and routine resumes..so here’s to all the parents who’ve spent the summer juggling work, children, family life and everything in between - we made it! 🙌🏼

I design homes for a living, but designing for your own child feels very different.

Every decision in this room has gone beyond how it looks.

How it feels.
How it functions.
How it supports rest, calm and safety.

As the smallest bedroom in the house, we’ve had to make every inch work harder, with bespoke storage, smarter layout choices and details chosen to grow with him.

Nearly there, and I can’t wait to share the final room.

Rooms rarely need more things, they usually need better choices.

Three details I come back to time and time again when creating spaces that feel elevated, warm and well considered:

Layered lighting instead of relying on one overhead source.
Texture and natural materials to create depth.
Correct scale, especially rugs, lighting and artwork.

It’s often these quieter details that make the biggest difference.

Which one do you notice most in a room?

Ending the week here..and honestly, I wouldn’t mind jumping straight into bed.

Designing bedrooms like this is always about more than they look - it’s about how they feel at the end of a long day. Calm, cosy, and ready to switch off.

Part 2 | Unboxing Levi’s bedroom

Not the polished reveal…
The in-between.

Where I question half my decisions, change my mind on handles 🙃 and focus on the bits that actually make the room work day to day.

Designing for your own child hits differently.

Especially when you’re not just thinking about how it looks…
but how it feels to be in.

A space where he can regulate, feel safe, actually BE safe…
and hopefully rest (a full night’s sleep would be a dream - SEN mums will get it).
