It’s been 6 month since I lost Chris, and Somedays it still feels like it only happened yesterday. grief is unbearable and so unpredictable- some days even the smallest tasks are unmanageable and other days there is a little spark that helps you move a step forward. These last 6 months have taught me never to take things for granted. I watch the dogs every morning look forward to what the day brings, their next walk, their next hug and even their next meal with great excitement and enthusiasm. Someone once told me to live life like a cocker spaniel, as if the garden gate has been left open! Life throws so much at you sometimes, and the only way to deal with it is keep taking a step at a time. I’m doing this and taking my own advice for once and I’m choosing to believe that lighter days will find me again.

A cuppa in the garden and a quiet moment to breathe. It’s the little messages,the tiny pockets of peace that make the hardest days a little easier.

I miss Chris every single day. And sometimes, in moments like this — a bit of sunshine and warmth on my shoulders, I almost hear him saying, *“Come on you’ve got this.”
