Come join us for a relaxed outdoor drawing class set within the wonderful East Lothian Flower Farm. Green Sketching is a new approach to drawing (founded by Dr Ali Foxon) the aim of which is to use drawing as a tool to see nature anew, to relish in the small details and create a deeper connection and appreciation of our surroundings.

This is a confidence boosting approach to drawing and though the class is aimed towards beginners, those with more experience are very welcome to come along and experiment. We will explore and play with different materials, surfaces and sketching techniques with an emphasis on playful process rather than a focus on one end resulting artwork.

The workshops will run from the start of the growing season in April and culminate as the harvesting comes to a close in November. Each class will be on the first Saturday of the month, with materials and a hot drink provided.

Please note the workshop will run whatever the weather so please do come well prepared for a typical Scottish day of four seasons in one!

💫Calling local musicians for Haddstock 2024!✨

We are looking for musicians from the Lothians who would like the opportunity to perform at Haddstock Music & Arts Festival that will return 24-26 May. This would suit those looking to gain experience, showcase new work or those who live in the community and would like to play in their local pub.

We are more likely to be able to accommodate smaller set ups as our PA resources are reduced this year due to lack of funding. We would like to offer expenses to those who are allocated a slot. We understand that this won't be for everyone, but if you are interested please email [email protected] by Sun 18th Feb.

This has been a huge inspiration for me as we had been growing in this area since 2016 and then found out that it was formerly a flower producing heated greenhouse.

It is has taken a few years to clear glass,grass and brambles to bring this space back into a productive growing space.
Will share the big dig details !
Only half of the main frame is remaining. We’ve created small hoop houses thanks to Jill and Alex for this development.

Bring a hint of spring to your front door. This class will be around 2 hours. Learn, create and make a living Spring wreath with us. During the class you will be provided with all the materials, equipment and items to create this living wreath. Learn the techniques in a fun, relaxed flower filled event.

Locally Sourced willow frame, bulbs from East Lothian Flower Farm. The bulbs grow in situ to be enjoyed on the wreath then can be planted into the garden for next years enjoyment. Fresh flowers, growing bulbs ( mascara and Narcissi) and dried elements to create a unique spring wreath. Finished with a colourful ribbon to attach to your door.
