The Process of a new collection - Part 2 ✨ The exciting stage where everything starts to come to life in a new way!

This is where we move into sampling on a new substrate, testing how the colourways translate from original artwork into print, and fine-tuning each variation to get them as close as possible to the original feel.

It’s a mix of experimentation and precision - making sure every tone, texture and detail feels just right before it goes out into the world.

Then it’s all about getting everything ready behind the scenes… getting the designs ready for the website, finalising the collection, and setting it live for you all to shop 🤍

What happens after the painting is “finished”? 🤔

Next up it’s time to scan and digitise the artwork, running quality control to make sure everything translates properly, then testing different colourways to see how the design can shift and transform in new ways. After that, it’s all about fine-tuning those final edits so the piece feels completely resolved.
This is where the work really starts to take on its final form… and part 2 shows what that looks like!

The painting might be finished… but the process isn’t quite over yet!

Rebecca talks through the final stage of the design process. It’s time to review feedback and make those last small changes before the piece is ready to go. Sometimes it’s the tiniest adjustments that bring everything into balance and help the whole mural feel complete.

After spending so much time close to a piece, fresh eyes and honest feedback become such an important part of getting the final result exactly right 🤍

Nearing the finishing stages, and all the little details are finally tying together 🤗

Rebecca talks through some of the techniques behind this piece which she has used to create texture and drama.

From wetting the paper to control movement and softness, to working with different paints and inks to build variation throughout the design. Summer always makes the process more unpredictable as everything dries so quickly, but sometimes that’s where the best textures and effects happen naturally.

Every material reacts differently, and combining them all is what gives the mural its layered, fluid feel in the end 🤍
