It’s not secret that I’m heavily influenced by traditional tattooing, despite not actually being a tattooer myself.

I have a great respect for the art form. I love the style that the limitations of the time created. The ingenuity and simplicity created something timeless.

I wanted to lean further into this style, so started working on something similar to “flash”. Flash is essentially pre-drawn, repeatable designs that a tattoo artist would have on hand and on display.

These new pieces have been created using some of these traditional methods.
•Textured cotton paper.
•A dip pen, with black Indian ink, for the linework.
•Watercolour inks, using a two brush method, for the colour.

I will still be painting on glass too! Just taking a slight detour into a work that interests me greatly.
