Visit us online or in store. Artscape has a long history. It is a combination of two very well known shops in Harpenden. Studio 35, offering art and craft materials plus framing services and Madesco, offering office supplies, photocopying and dyleline printing. Studio 35 was run from 1985 to 2000 by the Suharan family. Prior to this it was run by Geoff And Muriel Sanderson and was known as The Stu

dio, and later as Studio 35. For 17 years they ran it as a photographic studio, selling, art and craft materials, gifts, toys, greeting cards and picture framing. For many years customers continued to ask if studio 35 took passport photos, which takes us to the previous owner; it was known as C. Hallam, who mainly ran it as a photographic studio plus some other lines. But it always stocked art materials. Indeed, an old resident of Harpenden seems to think that about 50 years ago, one famous Mr Newton owned the shop at 354 High Street. Winsor & Newton is a world famous art materials producer and Artscape is proud to be a Winsor & Newton Premier Art Centre. We sadly had to leave the High St in June 2000 and the art shop was reincarnated under the name ARTSCAPE, moved to much larger premises at Unit 4 Bowers Parade, Harpenden. This site was demolished to make way for a housing scheme. A move to Unit 8 Southdown Industrial Estate did not affect our resolve to continue offering all the services, of course with ample free parking for customers. The current site is situated at 32 Coldharbour Lane, AL5 4UN. You can expect a friendly, professional service; whether it be picture framing to a very high standard, a staggering amount of art and craft materials, papers, mountboards, framing supplies, stationery supplies from stock and to order and black and white high quality colour copying up to A3.
