✨🦋06.06.2025 💖 06.06.2026 🦋✨

A 12 month journey through loss and grief and how it made me rethink the way I’m living life not in a ‘I quit everything overnight’ but in a ‘how and who I want to spend my time’ kind of way.

🦋 I stopped seeing life as infinite;

🦋 I stopped stressing over things they won’t matter in 5 years time;

🦋 I stopped putting dreams, joy and rest off and I started saying what I feel;

🦋 I ‘decluttered’ my life of people who drained me and filled it with people who value what I value and at the same level. And this remains ‘a work in progress’;

🦋 I have less tolerance now for pretending things are ok when they aren’t….and I just say it as it is. No more performing, shrinking or people pleasing just to keep everybody comfortable;

🦋 I care so much more now about how life feels, not just how it looks;

🦋 I intentionally seek and choose presence, calm and happiness.

I no longer think grief just breaks you.
I think it rebuilds you into someone who sees life completely differently.

Grief puts life into perspective, ‘anche se….fa rumore e fa male’.

I MISS YOU MUM. 🦋🩵✨

A morning well spent! 🌱🌹

This morning I was reminded once again of how powerful it is to live connected. 🙏🏻
Thank you Caroline for a much appreciated chance to reflect, improve, spend time with some familiar faces and connect with so many interesting new ones (🙋🏻‍♀️hi! I’m so happy to have met you today!)

Being in a room with likeminded people always:

✨feeds my soul
✨grounds my work in real life
✨makes creativity become contagious
✨ triggers inspiration

It’s so very true…the way we live, and who we surround ourselves with, grounds us in the present and shapes our future. ✨
So, well done Caroline for bringing us all together and to the lovely speakers & .skin 🫶🏻

Last but not least, the venue! Starting with a warm welcome this morning, the gorgeous views over the surrounding grounds and the interiors (of course!).
I can’t think of a better place to inspire us all & THRIVE 🌱🌹

Yes, who knew back in March 1997 that a three-year plan would extend to this point? ⏳⏳⏳

Quite frankly, I hadn’t really been thinking about it until last week, when a few small things made me stop and reflect.

✨ The start of the week required me to ‘readjust the sails’, which over the years has become almost second nature. I’ve learnt to embrace the stillness of my weekends and let the silence do the talking. That’s when I can see life and people, for what they are. So the weekend just gone was very much about my own space…. and my own pace.

🐝 Last week was also filled with conversations and catching up with clients I’ve worked with over the years. Reminiscing about the past comes quite naturally, and it still amazes me how I can travel back in time by linking a year to where I was working. With 58,684 photos on my iPhone, I can go straight to the year, the client, the house I’m looking for….without fail!

🦋Two of my lovely friends are hosting a very interesting workshop next week, a very rare opportunity to be guided by Janie and Helen to focus on what holds people back and helping them understand who they are and where they want to be moving forward. *The Art of Alignment in Spring* it’s all worth your time!

The combination of these moments became the starting point for my reflection on life….and my rather casual ‘overstay’ in this country. 🇬🇧

The years have passed so quickly. I only need to flick through albums of the children’s and teenagers’ bedrooms I’ve designed to see how they’ve all grown up or moved to Uni.

But it’s not just about TIME.
What brought us into each other’s lives (and what has kept us close) is something truly special: SHARED VALUES. 💝

Despite different cultural backgrounds, ‘we speak the same language’ when it comes to how we move through life. Family, respect, transparency, caring for others, authenticity, loyalty, benevolence and empathy, all beautiful values we aligned with back then, and ones I hope will continue to guide us for years to come. 💝🌸

‘We never know how high we are
Till we are called to rise’ 🌹
(By Emily Dickinson)

One of my favourite poems from my uni days… and what a life lesson her words were!
Her message is simple: to live up to our full potential, we have to be brave.
More often than not, we shrink ourselves. We underestimate what we can do, or hold back, out of fear of making mistakes, failing, being judged, or simply standing out.
And that applies to every aspect of our lives.

Funnily enough, it’s something I hear all the time at the start of consultations with my clients. Whether we’re talking about a full refurbishment or something as simple as a new colour palette, a revised layout, flooring choices or fabrics for window treatments.
The fear of change is almost always there.
Sticking with what feels safe is completely natural. But what’s also true is that, with a bit of gentle guidance, even a small shift can have a real impact on the outcome.

The ‘Signature Mini-Style’ service was designed with exactly that in mind: a subtle shift to reveal the potential of a room or space. Quietly, intentionally, and with purpose.
Here below are just a few examples of what can be explored through the ‘Signature Mini-Style’ when focusing on redecoration for instance:

✨ Colour consultations to create the right ambience in a space

✨Introducing colour or wallpaper to make artwork stand out

✨Turning ceilings into a bold feature

✨Enhancing original features in period homes

✨Creating a cohesive flow between rooms

✨Transforming everyday spaces like hallways, staircases, cloakrooms or utility rooms into something more considered and welcoming

✨Using textured wallpapers in neutral palettes to soften walls, or going bold with off-the-shelf or bespoke murals

Ultimately, great design isn’t about what a space is; it’s about how far you’re willing to push it, and how much you’re willing to stand behind that vision.

If you would like to have a conversation about how the ‘Signature Mini-Style’ works, and you are ready to see a room of your choice transformed to its full potential, please get in touch.
Let’s embrace that gentle shift together!🌸

🎨POISON INTO MEDICINE: the paradigm behind a paint chart, a colour palette and… everyday life.✨

I have always found the inspiration behind Francesca and Dillwyn’s paint chart totally fascinating and, having used a couple of their shades in past projects, I knew exactly where to look for inspiration for a Master Bedroom I’m currently working on.

The colour palette is closely linked to the work and life of Piero della Francesca, who, in their eyes, embodies the concept of turning poison (personal pain, struggle and life challenges) into medicine (a purpose or, more generally, something good).

The ‘Signature Mini-Style’ service I offer to my clients is very much in line with this idea.
It is a lighter-touch service, based on looking at a space not as something to fix or redo from scratch, but as something that can be rethought, worked with, and gently transformed.
A small, intentional shift rather than a complete and drastic change, yet one that still transforms the way a space feels and is experienced.
Spaces don’t always need to be ‘rebuilt’; they simply need to be seen differently.
The concept of “poison into medicine” perfectly expresses the idea that what is already there (even if imperfect) can become something good.

This paradigm of a small shift with meaningful impact goes beyond paint and interiors when applied to everyday life… and that is something I genuinely hold close to my heart.

The paint chart, the design service, and this approach to life all lead back to the Nichiren Buddhism principle that teaches us that, no matter how imperfect or challenging life may be, it is our ability to see things as valuable, meaningful and purposeful that allows us to turn them into something positive. 🙏🏻🧘🏻‍♀️✨💖🌸

EASTER 2026🕊️💛✨

Easter, to me, is not just a religious celebration.
It is a much simpler message hidden between the lines, and a very human one..
That of course, only makes sense if you believe the past and what happens is always there to teach us something.
Easter is a message of HOPE, LOVE for ourselves and for others, RESILIENCE, and community, all things that keep us human.
Whether it’s something that truly happened or the result of storytelling, the message is what counts.
As the world became unsettled, even the ones first chosen were faced with fear. They scattered, confused, and stepped away from those values to protect themselves. But another community (the women, whose voices were silenced and didn’t count back then) stepped forward. Fearless and determined, they stepped in to protect those values, despite the risk.
That could be the history of a community within this world or, if you want to see it differently, it could be what happens to each one of us as we go through life. The moment things become challenging, doubt and fear take over. But that is when other parts of us step in to preserve who we are.
And yes, whatever happens around us may shake things or turn them upside down, but as long as there is that light within us and a community ready to preserve those values… there is love, there is hope, and there is life.
With the world feeling upside down right now, I’m wishing my own community of family, friends, colleagues and clients a beautiful day to celebrate all of this.
Have a blessed Easter Sunday.🐣🌸🫶🏻
