Sparkly Socks for Christmas? And why not 😉

We’ve had a restock.

Pictures 1-3 are the brand new ranges from Opal, released at the end of last month and on our shelves in time for you to indulge yourself for Socktober.

Pictures 4-5 are examples of our existing ranges of Opal. Linda nearly said a very rude word when I owned up to ordering even more stock 🤬😱. And the monkey is one of two toilet roll holders that Karen simply couldn’t resist. Well, it is Hartlepool after all, might as well play to stereotypes 🐒😆.

Finally, the ranges in picture 6 have had to make way for my current Opal fe**sh and are on sale. I believe it could be as much as 30% off!!!

Loads there to choose from, and don’t forget sock makers old and new would be made welcome at our Sock Circle on a Tuesday from 3.45-5.45. Clare has a serious sock fe**sh and loves to share it with like minded souls.

Have a lovely weekend, stock up on sock wool and retire to your favourite chair with a cuppa and your needles.

In keeping with the Socktober theme, I'm knitting away as usual. This year I wanted to try a different sock design and while watching Ruth Wilson I heard about Nancy from Nancy Wheeler
I may have bought a couple of her beautiful sock patterns, but this is the one I'm focusing on for Socktober.
The yarn was from a stash dive. The grey sparkle is from Sophie Lee and the pink is from Clare and Jon Jon Bird

Can you help us help them? This request came from Jess, one of our regular knit and natterers.

We always support the Poppy Appeal in the shop and this year is a little different.

You will find the Royal British Legion patterns for both a knitted and a crochet poppy in store. There are ready prepared kits of yarn and even a sample made up of both to give an idea of the finished poppy. (I made them. The patterns are straightforward and very quick to make).

So please, if you’d like to help us in this project we would be forever grateful.

Karen has asked me to pass on a huge thank you to all our charity knitters.

Your kindness and generosity has enabled us to not only supply Hartlepool & North Tees with baby hats and blankets, but also James Cook and the Baby Bank.

The haul was enormous! So much amazing work for such a worthwhile cause.

Right, Karen’s cupboard is officially bare and ready to accept any donations.

There’s also been another idea mentioned for the run up to the cold weather, but I shall let Karen discuss that with you all in person.

So thank you once again and keep up the amazing work you do.
