Another week passed and another lamp finally completed!

This was a right old bu**er to get finished! I needed to get the base made in solid Oak that took a week to turn around just with a simple chamfered edge keeping it nice and simple.

Complete strip down and clean to remove as much aged look as possible (still a few deeper blemishes remain) all small parts removed and machine polished within a Inch of there lives πŸ€£πŸ‘Š

Then I had to wait for the cables to be delivered as I have these made to my exact specifications and lengths as in complete gold with the gold in-line switch and solid fused gold plug too! All made to order and conforming to the British BS EN 60598 standard for lamp production.

These are becoming very popular πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ and I enjoy making the different styles! It's becoming apparent that I may have to now sorce these from further afield mainly from the USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ but I'm more than happy to do this is the custom continues the way it is.

Thank you for all the kind words and comments on my posts across Facebook and Instagram very positive vibe πŸ‘ŠπŸ«Ά

Another weekend and another divers helmet lamp completed!

This is by far the best one yet! No different to the others I have made but this helmet is just πŸ’―πŸ’― well up there as one of the most sexy ones I have completed.

This is a genuine Rolex Submariner display item completed with the clear clean bezel to the face all hand riveted design (bullpen hammered copper rivets) this is absolutely solid! 🀭

We didn't go for dull and we didn't go for polished we went somewhere in-between to give that ages stressed copper some glory lasting 50+ years without reaching the scrapyard! Definitely one of the heaviest ones I have done just because of the helmets construction.

With this lamp we opted for the 200mm hexagonal base that in keeps with the aged look the dark wood with its lovely flowing grains makes this a perfect match for this lamp.

I do all of this and still I can't keep them long enough to display in my living room!πŸ€πŸ˜… but I'm not going anywhere and neither are my hands if I don't chop them anymore πŸ‘Ž

If you like what you see πŸ‘€ please drop me a follow Lewis Smith and share this post it's pepole that interact that make this possible keeps that algorithm going πŸ˜‚πŸ‘Š

One for the Carpy Carpers out there πŸ‘ŒπŸŽ£

I have done a few of these previously and they went so fast! I managed to find some more carp after a long awaited search!

The carp crafted in France in the late 60s as a way to hold documents definitely looks the part sitting on the shelf but even better I have managed to turn these absolute gems into carpy lamps!

This one complete ofcourse with the brass trimmings nickle plated silver bayonet fitting and something new I am trying a solid 20mm perspex base.

The base definitely looks like a slab of marble from a distance and I thing it just looks clean, I do love the wood but the perspex looks on another level!

Available once I have added a either Silver or Black cable πŸ€” not too sure yet πŸ˜…

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST πŸ‘ŒπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Another beautiful gem completed after having to get some shorter brass rods threaded today using the standard lamp fittings thread of 10mm with a 1mm fine pitch.

I opted for this solid Walnut hexagonal base with a traditional routured edge left in the raw, I think some woods look a lot better without the wax and others complete with wax polish ect.

This divers helmet is definitely a statement item for my client full polish and then a little bit of elbow grease with the good old faithful Brasso πŸ‘Œ

I have two more divers helmet lamps to complete this week, just awaiting for some oak to arrive all the brass fittings are in hand to complete these one on oak and the other on walnut.

The cremedelacreme πŸ‘ŒI managed to get hold of a rolex watch display helmet with the front glass similar to a watch bezel! Very hard to come by and very sought-after.

All parts are hand copper riveted on the brass and glass is all threaded brass instead of the standard brass clips, very very well built and very original!

We now have 4 rolex shop display helmets to work with once my hand has healed 🀣 slightly bad injury trying to make some bits this week for lamp fittings πŸ‘ŠπŸ˜

Stay tuned for how these all turn out I can imagine just like the last couple these won't stay around that long!

If your interested do message us and we can discuss further 🫢

Something a little different here......

I have seen Something similar to this previously so thought I'd have my take with a different aircraft, I of course opted for a Spitfire!

Utilising 3x British ww2 dated coins for the base 1942 1943 1944 then with the added bonus because of my shell collection I have used a 1942 British .303 round complete with projectile for the upstand.

For the spitfires propeller I removed the bladed prop and again utilising another British half penny (1941) affixed this to the aircraft.

Tell me what you think of this? Do you think I should make more? And most importantly would you purchase for your collection?

I hope you all like the content I am producing recently, any comments are welcome negative or positive it's all welcome πŸ™ let me know below πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

So a nice little delivery today from the USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

This ex Rolex display helmet will be the next lamp to be created they are so hard to come by in this pristine condition it pays off looking and searching various platforms to find these helmets.

This one just because its so beautiful will be a internally illuminated lamp, ones that are not massively polished and left with some panita will be a mixture of internally and external illumination.

How do you think I should do this one? I have solid Oak and Walnut bases in a hexagonal style with a traditional edge and a standard bevelled edge.

These two beautiful Copper & Brass vintage Rolex shop display helmets made into stylish lamps now both have sold with more orders placed!

These are a real eye catching item and I hav had many kind remarks about them. I do try to up the anti when asked to do things and strive to provide and produce limited items that will be hard to match.

These are all cleaned repaired and constructed by myself into fully working table lamps from start to finish I love what I do and I hope the new owners do too!

I have a few other lamps available that are now complete, Solid Brass Spitfire lamp and a couple of Vintage Brass Fire Extinguisher lamps also completed, if you'd like to see what we have available please drop us a message.

I am also going to look into getting a website up and running with everything that is for sale and videos of progress and the steps I take to produce these lamps.
