Exploring pottery in the outskirts of Marrakesh today and experienced two different types of pottery.
In the first 3 pictures, fired items receive a pigmented layer of lime, which is then burnished and which receives an application of soap and polish a day later. This technique is called tadelact.

The other photos are from a workshop, where the 3rd and 4th generation of potters work, producing items of very different sizes on two electric and a n ancient momentum wheel.

Big thanks to Wolfscastle Country Spa Hotel & Restaurant for organising a great Winter Craft Fayre!

There were a lot of visitors and we had a lot of interest in our ceramics.
(We also then spend some money on some of the wonderful wares of the other stall holders.)
