A Day in The Shed.

Finished glazed bits in the kiln waiting to be unloaded, freshly thrown mugs sitting on the shelves to dry out a bit before trimming, clay being recycled and my wheel covered in clay waiting for the next round😜

Pottery always looks calm when it's finished, but most days are just a juggling act- throwing,drying,trimming,glazing,firing,recycling,cleaning up and then starting again.

Today will be a tedious day I think🤪. These all have to have their bottoms waxed before I even consider glazing. It's not glamorous, at all. 125 mugs, a couple of jugs and 20 plates.
I'm now contemplating the soundtrack for today, King Buffalo, All Them Witches or do I go old school and crank up Motorhead, hmm decisions decisions. 😆

Close up of how I attach my handles, I like them to look part of the mug rather than just stuck on afterwards.

Meanwhile the plates and mugs I made previously are now candling in the kiln, making sure they are 100% bone dry before I bisque fire them. Next week will be more mugs/jugs before I switch to glazing.
