Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus. Happy St. David’s day!

It’s my first St David’s Day actually in Wales since I was 22. This week my little Bees will experience their first Eisteddod…. And it’s cute to hear that they’re already starting to pick up Welsh accents.

I miss Cornwall - but it’s good to be home. 🏠

It’s stole season again. Even though ordinations are usually in June I’ve already started to have enquiries for the bespoke, hand painted stoles I create. I’ve seen snowdrops and crocus. Yesterday’s there wasn’t rain! Maybe today there will be sunshine 😊

My first attempt at book cover illustration. I have a lot, a lot, a lot of learning to do…. But I made the deadline! Thanks to for the opportunity. Your cover design opportunities give this tired mumma of kiddies with additional needs the space to use her brain and take on a challenge, and - more importantly - find myself a little through the opportunity to be creative.

Inspired by Turner’s exploration of colour, I’ve finally sent off my submission to

It’s been a hard slog, tweaking, colouring, highlighting, starting again while fighting with an arthritic ‘frozen shoulder’ doing ten mins here and there with limited arm movement. Trust it to be my drawing arm!

Good luck to all of the entrants and, whatever the outcome, I’m glad this piece came to be.

Time is cyclical and not contractual. It’s ok to imagine you are under a warm blanket, healing. We are in deep winter. No resolutions need to be made. Instead books can be read, carpets hoovered, linen washed, children played with and family loved.

I was so very unhappy with the drawing I cobbled together for one of my winter challenge drawing prompts I just had to start again from scratch, taking a new direction and creating this new scene for ‘Believe in magic’. I’m happier with this. Sometimes something just has to speak to you. The old drawing didn’t and this one definitely does. Merry betwixtmas everyone!
