From a tatty £15 wardrobe to one I now love 🥰 #

Let's talk about TVs! 📺

With the football World Cup starting today, I'm sure there will be plenty of people settling down in front of the television over the next few weeks.
Have you ever walked into a room and thought, "Wow, that's a massive TV!" or, on the flip side, wondered why someone has such a tiny one?
Many people seem to think the bigger the better, whereas personally I don't want the TV to be the main focal point of the room.
Not only from an aesthetic point of view, but also for your viewing experience.

Did you know there's such a thing as a TV optimum size calculator? You can now easily calculate the correct size Tv for you. Not only from an aesthetic point of view, but also for your viewing experience.

Positioning is just as important as well.

A TV that's mounted too high might look impressive, but if you're constantly tilting your head upwards to watch it, it can lead to neck strain and discomfort during those longer viewing sessions. Ideally, the centre of the screen should be close to eye level when you're seated.

These days we've actually ditched the TV altogether and use a projector straight onto a wall instead. It gives us a huge screen when we want it, but when it's switched off there's no large black box dominating the room….although instead we just have a blank wall so not sure that’s great either!

Just like with any other furniture proportions make a huge difference. Get them right and a room feels balanced. Get them wrong and something can feel "off" even if you can't quite put your finger on why.

So, where do you sit on the big TV debate? Bigger is always better, or do you prefer a more discreet option?

I love watching every year Interior design Masters on BBC even though I get a bit frustrated by the standard of some of the work due to their limited budgets.

Did you notice how the blankets were tweaked inbetween takes?

Both finalists had did a fantastic job with the resources and time that they were gice but at the end of the day Lia Gold knew how to dress the house and add all those finish touches...that's in my opinion made the difference that little extra attention to detail.

Did you notice it?

I love my wardrobe!

That may sound a little odd but for the first time ever, (for me personally) I designed it exactly to my needs. Ok it's only from Ikea but it has everything I want in it ...although I'd happily have a much bigger one if we had the space :)

Not only do I love it physically I also the fact that I've only put inside it stuff I wear. There's nothing in it that's there "just in case I might one day fit back in it" or "I don't really like it now but I need to at least to wear it a few more times to get the most of it." There's no more rummaging though everything just to find the clothes I like!

My kids have now got me onto Vinted which is fab, not only have I cleared my excess clothes but so far have made over £70 :) I've even managed to buy the exact dress that I had in my wardrobe and loved but doesn't fit anymore in the next size!

It's funny how something as simple as a wardrobe can make such a difference. Now onto finishing off my old wardrobe and redesiging the rest of the room.

Are your rooms working for you? Does your wardrobe need a refresh?

We all know refreshing bits in your home cn take much longer than we anticipated.

So probably it wasn't the best time to start doing up an old wardrobe when you know you have guests arriving the next day 🤣

Of course the inevitable happened ,...ran out of paint, bought wrong colour, damp weather delayed drying 🤣.

So after a mad dash to the B&Q yesterday, I'm now reordering paint and will finish it off next weekend.

What do you think of my vision though..thanks to Chapgpt I can fully visualise the end result...just a shame it takes much longer in reality 🤣

Have you any projects on the go? Or planning refreshing any tired furniture?

That definitely didn't go as planned 😂. Not how you should start a week 😂

Couldn't believe the price of planters so I thought I'd make one! We've so many bits lying around why not use them?

Just a quick follow-up from yesterday’s video.

For those who didn't watch it, I was replying to the question:

"Do you charge?"

The answer is yes, I do!

I'm running a business, and I put a lot of time and effort into each individual client, offering a tailor-made service.

I’m not about one-size-fits-all. It's all about what you need, whether that's a walkthrough in person or online with some honest advice, a written report, detailed plans, or the full works where I take care of everything from start to finish.

What I offer varies from:

🔹 A verbal report, where I’ll look around your home, spot what needs improving, identify anything that might put buyers off, and share some straightforward tips and advice.

🔹 A detailed written report, with suggestions prioritised in order of importance, along with a clear action plan that you can work through at your leisure.

🔹 A fully managed package, where I take care of everything from finding and coordinating tradespeople to dealing with estate agents and solicitors, leaving you to do the absolute minimum needed.

If you're not thinking about selling but your home just isn't working for you anymore, I can help with interior design too, helping you make the very best use of the space you already have.

One thing I will say is that after an initial FREE 30 mins chat, I'll provide you with a quote, and that's what you pay. The only exceptions are if you decide to change something or if an unexpected issue crops up during a project...which occasionally happens.

As for pricing, services start from £120 for smaller homes, with larger or more involved projects priced according to the level of support required.

Whether you're getting ready to sell, want to maximise your home's value, or simply want your home to suit your lifestyle better, there's a package to fit your individual needs.

Want to know more? Just drop me a message—I'm always happy to help.
