Happy Friday, lovely yarn lovers! 🧶❤️

What have I got to tell you today? Hmm… not a great deal, really! 😂

We have so many gorgeous yarns in the shop at the moment, but there are a few gaps appearing on the shelves. So, what do you think Sally will be doing today? 🤔

YES… ordering more lovely yarn! 🛍️

I'm on the hunt for some sparkly red yarn for Christmas, as I've seen some absolutely fabulous things made in those gorgeous festive colours. 🎄✨ I'm also thinking about lovely things we can wear over the Christmas period.

Have you seen the King Cole Dazzle in my window? It's a beautiful yarn with sequins woven into it, so no nasty little sequins catching on everything! 😍 We have it in soft pink, soft green, navy, red and wisteria. There's a fabulous jumper in the window made from it, and I have both the jumper pattern and a matching cardigan pattern available.

I'm also hoping to get some super chunky yarn for finger knitting in the next few weeks, so watch this space!

And if you're looking for something special to knit or crochet for the autumn and winter months, pop in and have a browse. We can have a look through the pattern books/shade books together and hopefully find just what you're after. ❤️

Come and see me today or tomorrow! Saturday's opening hours are 9:30am–1pm, and then we're back to normal next week, Tuesday to Friday, 9:30am–4pm.

🧶🍂 Good morning, lovely yarn lovers! 🍂🧶

I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the shop, so do pop in and have a browse through our gorgeous yarns!

We’ve got some lovely things on the shelves at the moment:

🌈 Bright and vibrant double knits to brighten up those autumn projects.

🩵 Beautifully soft baby aran in duck egg, pale blue and cork
— honestly, you need to feel this one!

🧶 A couple of rather pretty variegated arans, plus lots of lovely chunky yarns to keep you cosy through the winter.

There’s plenty to inspire your next knitting or crochet project!

📣 A little update about our classes

We know we haven’t quite managed to keep everyone happy with the class arrangements lately, so we’re hoping a new approach will work better for everyone.

The November classes that are already booked will go ahead as planned, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all!

From December, we’re planning one weekday and one Saturday a month, with sessions available throughout the day. We’ll be booking individual knitting or crochet tuition with Sue, which we think will work much better for those who need a little extra help or would simply like to learn at their own pace.

These will be one-to-one sessions lasting 90 minutes, at £20 per session.

Although we normally close at 1pm on Saturdays, I’m quite happy to stay open for the full day on our designated class Saturday, so children and adults can both have the opportunity to come along.

I’ll let you know the December dates as soon as I’ve had a chat with Sue. 🧶

And one last thing — if there’s a particular colour you’re looking for and you can’t see it on the shelves, just ask! We can have a look through the shade books together and see if we can order it for you. 🌈

🌧️ Happy Tuesday, lovely yarn lovers! 🧶💕

After a lovely little break away, I’m back, refreshed and ready to welcome you all back to the shop! A big thank you to Carol for keeping everything ticking over while I was away. ❤️

As you can see, I’ve got a mountain of yarn to sort through this morning, but there’ll be some lovely new colours making their way onto the shelves very soon! 🧶😍

A little update on our October classes:
🧶 16th October – Fully booked! If you’re booked in, I’ll have been in touch with you.
🧶 17th October – We currently have no takers for our children’s crochet class, with everyone seeming to prefer November! If you fancy joining a class this month, please pop me a message and I’ll arrange things with Sue, our lovely tutor.

It might be a rainy start to the day, but there’s plenty to look forward to! ☔ So do pop in, have a browse and say hello. It’ll be lovely to see everyone again! 💕🧶

🧶 A little reminder of this week’s opening hours!

I’m here today until 4pm, then Thursday & Friday 10am–2pm, with lovely Carol at the helm! ❤️

Then we’re closed until Tuesday, when normality returns… although I’m not entirely sure there’s such a thing when I’m around! 😂

Pop in and have a browse before my mini break — there’s lots to tempt you!

✨ New Sirdar Embers double knit — Lightning grey and a couple of gorgeous Starlight left, with that lovely bronzy thread running through it.

🍂 Hayfield Bonus Marl Chunky — Dappled Glade, Pebble Beach, Berry Crush and Cherry Blossom. They’re all gorgeous!

And yes, if you see a colour you love on the Sirdar website, come and ask me to order it — I’m quietly cheaper than Sirdar direct! 🤫😉

Just a little reminder that my hours are changing this week while I take my short break 😊

🧶 Today – open until 4pm
🧶 Wednesday – 9.30am–4pm
🧶 Thursday & Friday – 10am–2pm, with my lovely friend Carol here to look after you ❤️
🧶 Saturday – CLOSED
Then back to normal hours from next Tuesday.

I’ve also got a little bargain for you this week! 👀

I have some Patons Wool Blend Aran left in a gorgeous mid blue and dark blue. It’s a good, hard-wearing aran — perfect for those lovely fishermen’s jumpers, hats and other cosy knits for anyone working out on the rigs or fishing boats. 🎣🧶

Usually £4 a ball, but the last of these two colours are now just £2.50 a ball! ❤️

And there’s new Sirdar stock in too, including some lovely marl yarns in four different colours, plus plenty of chunky yarns to keep you knitting through the winter… although I’m definitely not wishing winter here too soon! 😂

The cooler months will be here before we know it, so perhaps it’s time to start thinking about those cosy autumn projects… 🍂🧶 I’ve got lots of lovely autumnal shades waiting for you, plus some ready-made project bags — or I can make one up especially for you if you’re looking for a lovely gift. 🎁

Just a little reminder that next week’s opening times are slightly different while I’m having a few days away. Everything is up in the shop window, and don’t worry, I’m being covered on Thursday and Friday! 😉 We’ll be closed next Saturday, then back to normal from Tuesday the following week.

I’m really pleased to introduce the new colours in the Hayfield Extra Value Chunky range. At just £3.10 for a 100g ball, they’re fantastic value for a cosy chunky project!

I currently have Cherry Blossom, Pebble Beach and Dappled Glade in stock, with more colours available to order if there’s a particular shade you fancy. 🌸

I’ve got a ONE-OFF BAG of this absolutely gorgeous King Cole Rosarium Merino available! 🧶✨

I originally ordered this beautiful yarn specially for a customer, and I now have 9 balls left in this stunning deep grey shade.

It’s a gorgeous mega chunky merino blend — soft, cosy and perfect for making something really special. 😍

And here’s the exciting bit… the yarn comes with a pattern with enough wool to make either:

Who says men can’t knit? 🧶💙

I’m absolutely delighted to share this gorgeous jumper made by Jamie, a university student who spent part of his summer holidays knitting it. Just look at it — what a brilliant job he’s done! This was created from King Cole DK Cottagespun.

I think Jamie should be incredibly proud of himself. It’s wonderful to see young men enjoying crafts like knitting and creating something so beautiful with their own hands.

Well done, Jamie — you should be very proud! 👏🥰
