EVERYTHING CHANGED!!
For those of you who don’t know me personally, I thought I’d share a little of my story and how I got here creating beautiful products for you and your homes 💞
I have always loved fragrance. From wearing perfumes, to the way a scent can instantly transport you somewhere else, or bring back a memory from years ago in a heartbeat. Scent is so powerful. It can take us back, lift our mood, comfort us, and help create new memories we carry with us forever.
Before The Cottage Garden, I qualified as a fitness instructor and spent years helping people feel stronger, fitter and more confident. I truly loved helping people achieve things they never thought possible.
Then life changed. We bought our first home, took on a full renovation, had young children to care for, a puppy causing chaos, and then Covid arrived. Like so many of us, home suddenly became everything.
In the middle of dust sheets, walls coming down, floors being ripped up and complete madness, I craved one thing… for my home to feel cosy, calm and comforting.
Then one day, I discovered wax melts in a local garden centre and completely fell in love. These tiny little melts filled the room with the most beautiful fragrance and instantly changed how my home felt. Even the burner became part of the décor.
I knew I had to try making my own.
After lots of experimenting, learning and perfecting, I created products that gave me that same feeling of calm, luxury and comfort and I wanted to share that feeling with others.
That’s when Melt My Heart was born.
I started attending local fairs and very quickly realised something special… people loved them just as much as I did.
There were challenges along the way, including recovering from a pr*****ed disc in my neck, and later a full rebrand (a story for another day!), but every challenge only made me more determined.
And now, here we are… The Cottage Garden 💞
My mission has always been simple. To help turn houses into homes. To create products that bring warmth, luxury, comfort and that little exhale at the end of a long day.
This business is more than wax melts, diffusers or gifts. It’s me building a future for my children, creating something meaningful, and sharing a little piece of comfort with you all.
