U10 Knights

A very late comeback, scoring in the last 15 mins to get the draw.

Coming off x3 losses we asked the boys before the match to focus on being more decisive when they had the ball, and to win it back quicker when they lose it.

A scrappy first half that finished even. We then had a terrible start to the second and conceded a couple.

With the pressure on they started playing how we asked, fighting for every loose ball and playing with real confidence going forward, passing the ball around driving directly at the opposition.

All were great. George made important saves but also excellent vocal encouragement to teammates. Leo was a beast at the back, his usual tackling but also calm on the ball. Fin was relentless up front using his physicality to make it very difficult for the opposition. Seb was vital in the come back, dropping back to provide extra support in defence but still using his ability to transition the ball into attack. Millar, Ariyan and Julien were crucial in attacking play, using individual skill, clever passing and determination to move the ball up the pitch time and time again. However, MOTM went to Ariyan who was consistent the whole match, dominating central midfield in defence and attack

Really we should have got the win, but the way we got the draw reminded us of the grit the team showed throughout last season and will hopefully provide a great springboard going forward.

Ariyan ⚽️ 🏆
