John established 2W Electrical & Technology Solutions in 2020, building on a breadth of experience gained across both public and private sector organisations. 2W Electrical & Technology Solutions have been recognised for their high standards and attention to detail, as well as pushing the boundaries when looking for technology based solutions.

With the integration of 2W Electrical & Technology Solutions within Procure Direct's infrastructure, there will be a focus on delivering 'new' technologies to a growing customer base. With Procure Direct's team continuing to expand, maintaining high work standards and with a focus on quality is as important as ever.

One of the many reasons why EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) are so important, both live conductors welded together via the insulation and clear signs of overheating.

This is one reason why AFDDs (Arc Fault Detection Devices) are to be mandated in certain situations when the next edition of the IET Wiring Regulations are officially published next month.

This was found in a rental property, where checks must be undertaken every five years to ensure compliance. However, in most domestic properties these checks are recommended every 10 years. Needless to say that I have yet to undertake an EICR in a domestic property!

As promised, here is a picture of another of our 2021 projects, not shown at its best, but certainly shows some lighting options for any kitchen update projects. A mix of LED Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) strip-lights and down-lights, which means you can change from warm white to cool white at the flick of a switch.

Not all of our projects provide a good photo opportunity, although some of the things we find when undertaking work never ceases to amaze.

For those that haven't guessed yet, it was a mouse, and how it got into that junction box with all of the old wiring in place is incredible.

Needless to say that this junction box and most of the wiring has been replaced.
