Today marks the opening of Emerging Contemporaries, an exhibition bringing together thirteen Yorkshire artists, including me.

The exhibition brings together painting, printmaking and sculpture from emerging artists, and is on view until 2 September at Scarborough Market Vaults.

I’m delighted that my work has been selected for the upcoming Emerging Contemporaries Exhibition.

Curated by Amelia Pethullis, with support from the Scott Creative Arts Foundation, the exhibition will bring together a selection of artists whose diverse and experimental practices reflect the breadth of contemporary art emerging in Yorkshire today.

The exhibition will be on display in the atmospheric Scarborough Market Hall Vaults from 14 August – 2 September.

What happens when artists come together to share not just finished work, but the thinking, experimentation, and questions behind it?

This weekend I was part of The Space Between at Hull Artist’s Research Initiative (HARI), exhibiting alongside MA and MFA students from the Universities of Hull and York St John.

It was a great opportunity to share our practices, learn from one another, and open up conversations about the research, process, and experimentation that so often sit behind the finished work. I came away with fresh perspectives on my own practice and a real appreciation for the value of making space for dialogue as well as making.

A huge thank you to HARI , my fellow exhibitors, and everyone who came to spend time with the work.

Join us this weekend for The Space Between, a pop-up exhibition bringing together MA Fine Art students from Hull College and MFA students from York St John University.

The exhibition explores the space between ideas and making, experimentation and understanding, capturing a moment of creative exchange and artistic growth.

Come and spend some time with the work, the conversations it inspires, and the possibilities that emerge from the space between.
