Well, Helston - what a start! Lots of lovely families today were following Bobo's Giant Seedling Trail to Coronation Park Helston and joining us as story inventors at the chapel.

Writing a Memoir at Emporium Helston, the Manga Workshop at The Basement and Curious Objects at the Museum of Cornish Life are now FULLY BOOKED. Mapping the Closet at Trevow Chapel (4 spaces left) and Zine Making at The Basement (3 spaces) are nearly there, and Speakeasy's open-mic slots are full - though there's still room in the audience.

Booked something you can no longer make? Drop us a message so we can pass your space to someone on the waiting list.

Everything else is still open, but capacity's limited - so book ahead rather than turn up and hope. Which one's calling your name?

How did the Cornish language survive for so long? Like all languages, it was spoken around kitchen tables in the stories told over a pot of something warm, passed down from one generation to the next.

This Wednesday, Cornish language teacher Esther Johns is bringing that table to the Emporium Helston. An evening of Kernewek, traditional Cornish food to taste, and film clips made with the Lizard's own LAFTA drama group - a gentle, joyful way in to the language, whether you've never spoken a word or are becoming fluent.

It's a proper gather-round-the-table sort of night, so we've kept it to just 20 seats. Do book ahead!

We cannot wait to welcome Cornish language teacher and Kegin Esther presenter Esther Johns to Emporium, Helston for an evening exploring the connections between cooking, storytelling, and the Cornish language (Kernewek). The evening will offer a gentle and joyful introduction to Kernewek, woven through the traditions that have always kept it alive: food shared around a table and tales passed from one generation to the next.

The evening will feature film clips of cookery and storytelling created with the Lizard-based LAFTA drama group which will be fuelled by examples of traditional Cornish food too. Esther will guide you through what you're hearing and seeing, making Kernewek feel accessible and alive.
