Straight from the yard to West Wales.

Western Red Cedar battens, cut and ready for a job out west.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is treating battens as an afterthought. They're not. Get the timber wrong here and it doesn't matter how good your cladding is, the whole thing's only as good as what's holding it up.

Cedar battens don't rot the way other softwoods do, no pressure treatment needed, and they cope with damp coastal conditions far better than most. Worth thinking about if you're building anywhere near the coast.

Cut to size and on their way to do their job.

Need battens sizing up for a project? Drop us a message and we'll sort it.

Most fences don't last. This one will.

Western Red Cedar fencing, fitted on a job in Gloucester.

Cedar's not the usual choice for fencing, and that's exactly why it stands out. It resists rot naturally, no pressure treatment needed, and it weathers to that soft silver-grey finish instead of going patchy and tired like treated softwood does.

It's lighter to work with too, but don't mistake that for weak. Cedar's tough enough to handle whatever the British weather throws at it, year after year.

If you want a fence that still looks the part in ten years, not just the first two, this is how you do it.

Another job done, another customer with a fence that'll actually last.

Fancy something different for your next fencing job? Get in touch and we'll talk you through it.

The difference is obvious once it's up.

Larch cladding, fitted horizontally on a building in Hereford. Look at that grain.

Larch's earned its reputation as one of the best cladding timbers going. Naturally durable, handles the weather without breaking a sweat, and it weathers down to a lovely silvery tone over time if you leave it untreated.

Horizontal battens with a gap like this give good airflow behind the cladding too, which matters more than people think. Trap moisture in there and you're storing up problems. Get the detailing right and it'll outlast most things on the building.

British timber, milled and supplied by us, now doing its job on a job in Hereford.

Larch doesn't hang about once it's felled.

This one's straight off the trailer and onto the telehandler, heading in for milling.

Larch's a favourite for a reason. It's tough, it's naturally durable, and it holds up well outdoors without needing a load of treatment. Cladding, fencing, decking - it does the lot.

The trick is getting it milled and dried properly. Rush that and you end up with timber that moves, splits, or lets you down a year in. We take our time so it doesn't.

This log's about to become someone's cladding or decking. British timber, done right.

Not all Cedar cladding looks like this.

This is Western Red Cedar cladding, 2x1, fitted vertically on a garden room in Pandy.

Cedar's the go-to for a reason. It resists rot naturally, no pressure treatment needed, and it weathers to that silver-grey finish everyone's after - without the maintenance headache other timbers bring.

Vertical battens like this give a clean, modern line. Simple detailing around the doors and windows, no fuss, just done properly.

This is why people choose Cedar for garden rooms and extensions. It looks the part on day one and it's still doing the job years down the line.

Planning a build and need cladding sorted? Get in touch and we'll talk you through it.

Fresh off the mill and heading to Gloucester.

22mm x 47mm Western Red Cedar battens, cut and ready for a development job.

Most people think a batten is just a batten. It isn't. Get the spacing and section wrong and your cladding moves, cups, or worse - fails behind the boards where you can't see it until it's too late.

Cedar battens matter because Cedar doesn't rot the way other softwoods do. No pressure treatment needed. It handles our weather without kicking off, which is exactly what you want holding up cladding for years, not months.

22 x 47 is a solid, reliable size for most cladding setups - enough depth for a good fix, without piling on unnecessary weight or cost.

This batch is off to a development in Gloucester. British timber, milled properly, doing its job.

Got a project needing battens cut to spec? Tell us the job and we'll sort the sizes.

This is why Western Red Cedar is one of the most sought-after cladding timbers.

This stunning project in Abergavenny shows exactly why.

The warm tones of the Western Red Cedar battens contrast perfectly against the black standing seam cladding, creating a clean, contemporary finish that will still look fantastic for years to come.

Western Red Cedar isn't chosen just because it looks good.

It's naturally durable, lightweight, stable and highly resistant to rot, making it one of the best choices for exterior cladding without relying on heavy chemical treatments.

Every board has its own character, with natural grain and colour variations that give each project a completely unique finish.

Whether you're building a new home, extension or garden room, quality timber makes all the difference.

Proud to supply locally sourced Western Red Cedar for projects like this across Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and throughout the UK.
