Update:
Sadly, after many hours working on this, I have realised it will be a mammoth challenge to make it a nice cross stitch pattern. It looks fine in the example below, but when you are "up close and personal" you see how much confetti there is, plus the backstitch.
So, it has been consigned to the "nice but not possible" file. The joys of designing and making cross stitch patterns, I guess I have 1 in 8 or 10 images that suit the conversion process.

This pattern is a work in progress - has a lot of tidying up, and ideally, the outer edges will be stitched in gold thread. However, this is a example of how it may look.......
22ct, 30 colours at current point. will have lots of backstitch to add detail.
