There is nothing like a bit of Hertford sunshine to get the creative juices flowing! ☀️
​Yesterday was a huge milestone for the Bengeo Community Mosaic. After all our wonderful workshops, I finally had all the pieces in one place. I couldn't resist the weather, so I took the tray outside to soak up the sun and get to work.
​Seven hours of "mosaicing" later, and it’s almost complete! It was so peaceful having the space to spread out and see everyone’s hard work click into place. 🧩
​Studio Helpers: I’d mentioned having people into the studio to help finish it off, but I got into such a flow in the garden that it’s nearly done! Thank you to all of you who offered extra help. There’s just a tiny bit left before I stick it down next week, then grout and should be ready for end of the month. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed. More soon.

When the paper came off… the crown appeared 👑✨
This is the moment the Potton Community Mosaic was flipped, fixed, and revealed — and suddenly that golden crown caught the light.
Honestly, it felt like the sun came out right inside my studio.
Huge well done to the Potton community — the care, patience and teamwork that went into this crown really shows. A beautiful centrepiece, made by many hands 🤍

Come and see the not-so-glamorous side of mosaics… 😅
Today I went to the fabricators — a little trip to Birch Engineering — to create the aluminium frames for the Potton Mosaic Heritage Trail.

Huge thanks to Steve for letting me wander around like I know what I’m doing 😂

Just thought you might like to see the real behind-the-scenes of community art.
It’s not all sticking down pretty glass tiles… but I honestly love every bit of it.

The main Potton mosaic — created to commemorate the Queen — has now been completed by the amazing Potton comminity. In fact we worked out at least 70 people helped.makentje mosaics.

Over two days, volunteers worked together to bring this design to life, piece by piece.
It will take pride of place on the Library wall in the town centre, becoming a beautiful part of Potton’s identity.

There’s just the final lettering to add back in the studio — but the mosaic itself is complete.
Well done, Potton! You did it.
