A little mosaic inspiration at the Saatchi Gallery ✨

For centuries, mosaic was used to create some of the world’s greatest works of art. Yet somewhere along the way, it became labelled as “craft” or “decoration”—separate from the world of fine art.

It feels as though that distinction is finally beginning to dissolve. Seeing mosaics exhibited alongside contemporary painting, sculpture and installation is a lovely reminder that the material doesn’t determine whether something is art—the ideas, imagination and expression do.

So inspiring to see mosaic claiming its space in contemporary art. And plenty of other inspiration here too! ❤️

I had such a different kind of day today and went to a Screen printing workshop with Helen Rawlinson in Hackney. I ❤️ loved it. So nice to learn something and not be the teacher.

Think I might have to buy a little kit to add to my collection 😂. Anyone else got lots of crafty kits to use at home?

It was through Airbnb experiences. I didn't even know that was a thing? Did anyone else? So when I received a voucher to try one I thought it was a promotional catch but actually cost me £2. Below is a link to the exact one I did and you should get £19 off.

Anyway it was fun and I have got serious studio envy!

It's been a journey of making from end of 2025 to 2026. Four workshops and it's all come together for a Bengeo Mosaic unveiling this Sunday 10.30am on Bengeo Street.
