Ooh, the more christmas trees on my feed the more I can't wait to get selling these decorations and cards!

All the festive goodies are planet friendly - no plastic waste here this year - hang a decoration on the tree then wear the bow on the big day. They're also amazing stocking fillers, special gift tags or just a treat for yourself.

DM me for details, there'll all handpainted, decorated and made by me so there aren't many available.

Decorations. When is too early to think about them?

This hand painted (in Farrow and Ball's new colour Whirlybird no less), bejewelled mistletoe is hiding a secret... a gorgeous on trend red velvet bow hairclip, perfect for any festive outfit, for grown ups or little ones.

There aren't many available, and they will be on sale at the I Do Handmade market at Shepherds Bush Westfield on Sat 26th November along with lots of other gifts and goodies so do come down and see them for yourself.

The idea of beeswax wraps really appeals to me, but I wanted to use up some of the fabric I had already, so thought I'd have a go at making my own. I found these amazing blocks from that have the perfect blend of beeswax and other magic ingredients, including delicious smelling herbs, that just melt ready to paint on.

I think I still need to perfect my technique to use less wax, as I only managed to make one, but the beeswax wrap is fabulous, cost way less than the shop bought ones and already I'm wondering how we lived without it! Can't wait to make some more 🐝🐝🐝

I don't think I mentioned it at the time, but back in November I had the opportunity to run a session for a group of sleep consultants, training with The Sleep Charity, all about kids bedroom environment, and how they could potentially help their clients to create calmer spaces for kids who struggle with sleep.

It was an amazing chance to talk about my work, and slightly nerve wracking to talk to experts who have so much more experience than me, but their feedback was so encouraging and supportive, and it couldn't have gone better!

Anyway, one of the tools I gave them that they found most useful was a checklist to apply when designing or rearranging kids rooms, basically a set of questions and ideas to try to find out whether something small might be preventing little ones from getting to sleep or sleeping through. This is so sad, but also probably not far from the truth... Disposable plastic is all around, and hard to avoid now we've become so used to it as part of everyday life.

But it is possible to be the change for our kids. You can choose products that have less packaging, or can be reused or recycled, so stand your ground and make the right choices, buy good quality, buy local and say no to plastic packaging where you can.

Minimello has always stood for plastic free. Each organic bedding set comes in a reusable organic cotton bag, tissue paper and plastic free outer box with paper tape, and we use compostable bags for other products. It might be more expensive for us to produce but it's worth it. Be the change.
