There's something so striking about a wool runner down the stairs! A staircase, softened. 100% wool, edge-bound and fitted to every tread, warm underfoot, and built to take the busiest part of the house. The measure and the advice are free.

Every room asks something different of a floor.

A hallway takes the mud of a cold wet winter. A bedroom wants to be warm underfoot at six in the morning. A kitchen needs to shrug off a dropped pan.

Swipe through for a short guide to the main flooring types, where each one belongs, and why. And if you'd rather just ask someone who fits them every day, that's what we're here for. The measure and the advice are free.

Two floors, one house.

On the stairs: a 100% wool runner, tapered at the sides so it sits properly into every winder rather than looking cut to fit. Wool for the stairs because it's what takes the daily wear of a staircase without flattening.

Through the hallway: Camaro LVT in Naked Blonde Oak, laid on the diagonal with a border and a design strip, not the standard straight run.

Same values on both jobs. Choose the right material for what the room actually has to do, then fit it so it looks like it was always there.
