About time too. British Wool has been undervalued for too long.

WOOL PRICES ON THE RISE! 📈🐑

British Wool's October sale saw the ‘most intense level of competition in the last decade’, with prices averaging £1.18/kg, up almost 20% on last season. 🙌

Andrew Hogley, chief executive of British Wool said: "Following some very positive conversations with the trade, our sales team is confident the strong demand will continue throughout the selling season."

Many years ago I sold a lot of Jute yarn for rope making. I remember having to wait while the guy cycled the length of the shed to take my phone calls!

Rope has been made at Chatham Dockyard for over 400 years, miles upon miles of rope that has rigged the mightiest vessels ever to take to the sea, including Nelson’s VICTORY.

Today Chatham is the only one of the original four Royal Navy Ropeyards to remain in operation.

On Throwback Thursday we introduce The Terrible Knitters of Dent. The village was renowned for its hand-knitters and the speed at which they worked. The meaning of 'terrible' actually meant 'great' and reflected the brilliance of their knitting.
