Slumbering your stove is when your appliance is set at minimal output, usually overnight, so that burning can be resumed without needing to relight a fire.

It can lead to:
🔴 Sooty and/or dry deposits on the flue lining
🔴 Increased levels of carbon monoxide and particulates
🔴 Increased likelihood of condensation within the chimney

These problems will contribute to a risk of corrosion, ultimately reducing the lifespan of your liner. Find further guidance on our Advice Hub or contact your local HETAS registrant. 👇🔗

Wood logs cost 63% less per kWh than electric ⁣heating.⁣

A modern stove will use less than a third of the ⁣amount of wood fuel compared to an open fire to ⁣give the same amount of heat. Wood fuel is ⁣renewable and sustainable, and can be locally ⁣sourced, helping to further reduce the carbon ⁣intensity of home heating.⁣

Choosing a modern Ecodesign stove, such as a ⁣clearSkies certified model, is a highly efficient, ⁣cost effective, low carbon and low emission way ⁣to heat your home.⁣

Hot and cooling ashes can be a fire and carbon monoxide hazard.

To ensure safe disposal of stove ash, allow adequate time for cooling after a fire. Also, keep the stove door closed until the ash is cool. Remember to have the correct equipment on hand, like safety gloves. 🧤🔥
