When you congratulate yourself on a neat seam and then realise you've sewed the neck together rather than the shoulder seams! Frogging time! 🐸🙈

Yesterday was far from a 'day of rest'! Mr TLC took me to Ayletts for breakfast which was very lovely, but, of course, being a garden centre we just had to buy plants too!

I got three strips of winter veg, plus some fleece to protect them from frost and also to prevent too much attention from the many cabbage white butterflies which are still flitting around the garden.

I love to see all the butterflies, but not on my veg!

Mr TLC wanted two heathers which we couldn't find but we came away with five other plants instead. 🙈

From there we drove to Dunelms for a picture frame. We have a gorgeous picture which Mr TLC
bought a while ago, but we had no frame big enough.

Once home I spent a considerable time on the pc typing up last month's accounts and some invoices for Mr TLC.

Having done all that I sat in my comfy chair in the sitting room, picked up my knitting and promptly fell asleep!🤣

Yesterday Mr TLC accompanied me to the Handmade Local - Herts, Beds & Bucks shop at Olde Watermill Shopping Village to stock my shelves.

There are some many beautiful things filling the shelves of the shop and I'm super lucky to be able to be part of it.

Once again I've been a bit quiet on the socials as I've just been beavering away at Dragonscale Gloves and Ribbed Bobble Hats ready for an exciting new opportunity.

I can tell you that from this Sunday The Linen Chest Handmade items will be available from these shelves at The Olde Watermill Shopping Village in their local makers shop.

They're open Wednesday to Monday 9.30 - 5.30 (Sunday 10- 5).

I met Catherine from CW VA Solutions there yesterday for a good browse as well as a coffee and a catch up. There was such a lot to see there, I'm looking forward to going back on Sunday for another look.

I felt my age yesterday when I realised I won't be around for the next total eclipse in Britain as it's not until 2090! I suspect I'm not alone!🤔

Who felt just that little bit unsettled yesterday as it gradually got darker and colder? I realised, and again probably not alone, that eclipses prove just how much our planet relies on the sun. It's a scary thought. It provides our light and heat and without it we can't survive.
Big shout out to Mr Sun for our existence, but if you could just please slide a teensy weensy bit to the side for a tad and let some rain in, we'd very much appreciate it 🤣

Sitting in the garden drinking a cuppa I was interested to see that the colours are those usually seen at the end of August not the beginning. The red Acer's leaves have turned a deep crimson and gold, the white Acer's leaves are beginning to show brown edges and this year's new spring shoots on the other trees are turning to a deep green.
However, there's still lots of colour and the bees are still very busy.

I've spent most of my time lately working on Dragonscale Gloves, and this week I've been ably assisted by two four legged protectors who have big hearts, but very short legs!

Unfortunately they love to 'see off' anyone who comes within fifty yards of the house even though they are in the house and can't see them, only hear them and their barking is a bit like a clockwork toy, it doesn't stop until it winds down!🤣

As long as I keep them away from the windows I can pretend they are huge canines bravely protecting all within the house. However, I've been trying to teach them to bark more deeply as their yaps tend to give them away!

Mind you the looks on their faces when I bark in a deep voice and encourage them to practice it too, just results in looks of total bewilderment.🫣 I obviously don't speak dog. Where's Dr Doolittle when you need him? 🤣

They go home on Saturday and will probably need therapy! 🤔
